Had to do this a last month on my 04 RX-1. Just clicked when I turned the key. Put a screwdriver on the solenoid and the starter cranked over. Ran fine the rest of the day and no other problems this year. I'm guessing moisture somewhere in the connection. I bought a spare solenoid to be...
Had the same problem on my Warrior. It was intermittent on a cold start. Never did it warm. Replaced with a new starter solenoid by the battery, problem solved.
Went out to start the sled in the morning, hear a click from near the battery won't turn over. Discover that it's coming from the starter solenoid. Placed a screwdriver on the solenoid contacts to bypass and it turns over. Let the sled warm up and tried to restart. Started no problem that...
2 dealers for me in Michigan. Hackers Yamaha Houghton Lake and Pat's in Greenland in da UP. For me you may get a better price on a new sled from a diffferent dealer, but the deciding factor for me is the customer service and service department. I take care of the small repairs, but don't have...
Sound quality wasn't the best, but sounds like exhaust donuts/cracked y pipe to me. Let it idle and stick your head underneath and you will hear the leak if there is one. And while it's running, put your hands over both ends of the exhaust and the sled should bog down/almost stall if the...
Does anybody know if the y pipes on the fuelie Vectors are stainless or titanium? My sled has 6,000 miles on it. My 06 apex started acting up with similar miles, cracked y pipe both sides. Wondering if others are experiencing greater longevity on the newer vectors. Stuck my head underneath...
Is the y pipe for the 2010 Vector stainless or titanium? Does it have longer longevity than the older vectors and apex? I replaced my 06 apex around 6,000 miles. My 2010 vector has almost 6,000 miles and wondering if i'm getting close. Exhaust sounds good and I don't hear any exhaust leak...
Can I just replace the 4 outside idler wheels and the 2 inside wheels without replacing the rear wheels? Does it make a difference that these wheels will be bigger than the rears?
Unless I'm missing something that doesn't look like that sharp of a corner. I was expecting coming over a hill then a sudden 90 degree turn without proper signs at the crest. It always comes down to speed. If you can't maintain control of your sled because of speed or poor conditions, you're...
Ok...Thanks wasn't sure. Went out and plugged it in and tested it again. The inside lens is slightly warm to the touch but, the outside is cold. I also think there may be a leak between the lenses. Looks a little cloudy when wearing.
I've been using a bv2s helmet the past few years and like it. On occassion the helmet has fogged in the right conditions. I cracked the shield last week and decided to upgrade to the heated visor. Rode last night in some freezing drizzle and had the front of the shield ice over. I was...
People need to not panic when the slides wear fast the first few hundred miles. I know it's disturbing when they wear that fast so soon. Buts it's like the others have said, they wear quick then stop. I change my hyfax once a season and it's not always in great snow conditions. Usually about...
Had this happen only on real cold mornings on my rx-1. My guess is the connection/relay is frozen. Every time it happened, within 1 minute the lights would come on. I think once that circuit heats up, your back in business. Never had any issues the rest of day after the initial start.
The only time my apex did that is when i blew the driveshaft bearing. Cruising down the trail, code came on and would not restart. Check that bearing. If you haven't rode it yet this year probably not, but worth looking at.
