I installed seat heaters and digital voltage gauges in both Phazers. I wish I would've taken more pics along the way.
I found a decent sized, water resistant rocker switch for the heaters that's easy to operate with gloves on. So far they seem to work great. High gets a bit too toasty after a...
Both of my 2010 Phazers had that same issue when I bought them. The stock wheels are all plastic and tend to slip inside the track easily if frozen with a little ice. I upgraded them to some Cat wheels part # 3604-264 which have rubber tires on them that seam to eliminate the slipping issue...
Great to hear it was a simple fix. You can upgrade to the newer red solid state relay for under $20. Yamaha part # 8GN-81950-00-00
Ebay and Amazon have them available.
Might not be related to your Nytro but all three Phazer's I've owned did nearly the same thing each season. They'll fire right up with a shot of ether and run great but won't start on there own with 8-9 month old fuel. Doesn't seam to matter what kind of fuel I put in them for storage or what...
I've used a rubber Qi wireless charging tray that cradles the phone really well. I've also had great results just using the USB charge port on the phone, as long as all the pocket lint is cleared out. If there's any crud in there the physical connection becomes unreliable.
I've found that I still have to use ether for the first start of the season. I run premium "non-ethanol" for storage but by the following winter it still doesn't want to burn easily. I can smell gas coming out the tailpipe but no fire up. A quick squirt of ether and away it goes. It's fine all...
Well all I can say is that the 100% Yamaha built sleds I own (2010 Phazers) have probably been the worst built sleds I've ever had in recent years. The engines are fantastic but the chassis leaves a LOT to be desired. After 5k miles, nearly every moving part is completely worn out or loose. The...
A friend of mine has an '07 with the original ECU. It doesn't start on its own in the cold so he just resorted to keeping a can of ether handy. A quick squirt down each throttle body and it fires right up. He doesn't want to spend the money on an ECU so this works for him. I have two 2010 GT's...
I don't think pistons will be an issue for the owners that trade up every year. Always under warranty so no worries. For those that tend to keep there rides long term it might be best to look elsewhere. This was one of the many reasons I went 4-stroke and haven't looked back. My throat closing...
The Doo 4-strokes have forward facing exhaust and don't have issues that I'm aware of. I could be misinformed though. The ones I've rode with (900 Ace NA) have been super reliable for the owners.
I also eliminated the snow cooling hole on the tunnel of both my Phazers a couple thousand miles...
During yesterday's ride we came upon this. The Polaris Assault assaulted the poor little tree. It didn't look too bad other than maybe the rider went through the wind screen. We couldn't figure out how this could've even happened. It was a bit after a left hand turn and they went further left...
I'd like the Phazer engine or similar in a Procross chassis with a whisper quiet muffler like the Ski Doo Ace series. It won't ever happen unless I build my own. I love the Phazer on the trails but it just isn't stable and easy to ride off trail compared to the Procross or REV chassis I've...
That sucks but good to hear you're ok
I've had a few close calls this season with riders NOT on there side of the trail around corners. Definitely an #*$&@ puckering moment. The other big issue this year in northern Wisconsin has been deer. Trees on both sides so you can't see them coming. They...
We're on Big McKenzie lake just 15 minutes from Spooner. The plan is to live here full time eventually. We're here more than MN as it is anyways. Great area and trails out my back door!
I installed the quiet comfort kit on both my Phazers this season. HUGE improvement in low speed drivability! I haven't noticed any reduction in fuel mileage, possibly a tad better but then conditions are always changing so it's hard to tell.
The rattling noise improved on both, more on one...
