Thanks Mooseman, I really appreciate the schematics. It's interesting how they wired these in..
My only concern with testing directly at the battery is that I would have to run it without the airbox, I imagine it should be fine since it's a short period of time and the temperature sensor is...
Hi Mooseman,
I imagine that I can check at the charge ports coming out the right side? or should I check directly on the battery ports?
I believe that the rear warmers are controlled by the ECU which then goes through the relay. I can't seem to find any schematics for this sled anywhere...
Hello everyone,
As the typical Venture owner, my passenger hand warmers weren't working over the last two seasons that I've owned the sled. I found the issue being at the switch so I ordered a new one. I tested the connector before connecting the switch to see if power was getting to the unit...
Hi maim,
I'm aware of how the system works by researching for the last week lol. I believe the fix from rock is a replacement relay if i'm not mistaken and ignores the needed RPM range for the system to operate? That's ok with me as I always turn it off if I do not have a passenger with me...
Hello,
As i'm reaching to tail end of putting my Venture GT back together, I decided to tackle my passenger hand warmers that haven't worked since owning the sled. First I thought that the handwarmers themselves weren't working so I tried peeling back the rubbber boot off of them, i tried...
Hello everyone,
I went to install my old Rollerski onto my new skis and they cannot retract due to my wider ski. I hadn't thought of that when ordering my skis and now hoping I can figure something out. I wrote to Qualipieces since they have a rollerski for the Arctic Cat Bear Cat 8 inch ski...
I was finally able to put on my new skis and carbides over the weekend and have the sled off the jack stands. I decided to go with C&A Pro MTX skis which are 8" wide and went with the aggressive snow trackers.
With all the steering components done I was finally able to button up some of the front end over this past weekend. I painted my new bottom A-arms as well as the Apex upper A-arms that I bought. I decided to use Dupli-color Metalcast paint and therefor needed to lay a base of chrome paint. The...
Oh ok, I would have thought that Yamaha would have used the same paint code.
I did a comparison of my painted arm with one of the panels off my sled and it is quite close.
Here are the results from the Dupli-Color Metalcast. You need to lay a base of Dupli-Color Chrome or Metalcast Base before adding the color.
I could only find the Chrome paint so I put a couple coats of that and then did 1 light coat of the red and 2 medium coats, my plan was to do 2 light...
I'm pretty sure the paint code is 0918 - Deep red metallic but it would probably be pricey to have that made. Canadian tire has Dupli-color Metalcast spray paint in deep red which looks like it would be a close match. I'm hoping to paint my lower and upper A-arms over the weekend with that paint.
Thank you, I cannot wait to try it out this winter and see the difference. I don't do much aggressive riding but i do use a lot self made trails in the forest to get to random lakes and fishing spots. There's often a lot of ruts or hidden stumps I run over.
I plan on finally doing some real...
I was finally able to assemble the remaining of the steering components over the weekend. I ended up replacing all tie rod joints with ATV ones, the ones I got are for Yamaha Banshee, Warrior or Raptor. Since they are bigger and longer, I had to shorten rod #24 and I have created my own #29 with...
I was able to add my billet steering blocks this week. I had to tighten the steering post blocks snug since it is fairly tight when moving the bar left to right. As for the block that holds the the steering post that runs down towards the front, that block is holding the post a little too tight...
Hello everyone,
I've been slowly acquiring some parts to help fix my loose steering as well as improving the durability of the components used. As we all know, the steering pivot arms have a weak point as to where the plastic bushings wear out and cause sloppy steering. There's also the...
Oh I see what you mean. I thought you meant that the rx1 has needle bearings in the idler arm. The metal collar that sits in the plastic bushing is what is worn on .ine but it would be a good idea to also get a pitman arm with the bearing.
I'm looking into figuring something for the idler arm...
The earliest RX-1 I can find is a 2003? When I look at the steering schematics in partzilla, it shows the same plastic bushings that's in my 09 venture..
