    Sidewinder ‘Thunder-Run-Fun’

I know a lot of us have not had the chance to run our sled yet so I thought I’d post a couple videos to help us all get through this feeling of anxiety, getting ready for the upcoming season :P Friday last week (11/25/16) I had a chance to run my sled or should I say break in the motor making...

    Ski Options

They were ok, but a little stiff at slower speeds. Curve skis on the viper are the way to go. That's what I settled on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Excell's XV7 Cold Air Intake and Silencer

Yes, I have both Air Box Intake Kit and Exhaust. Running primary clutching with stock weights, spring and rollers. Just fine tuning as needed.

Excell's XV7 Cold Air Intake and Silencer

Just some more ‘positive’ feedback from this kit… Yesterday I went out for a ride with a buddy in the afternoon and was resetting my 'trip 1' to Zero and noticed I have 1800+ mi on this sled. Some good old corner-to-corner-arm-pumping riding with some groomed and small bump trails. I have...

Std Vipers w/Coil Front Springs/Skid Adj

With all this talk over clutch kits and performance mods thought I’d share the following adjustments to my Viper 2 weeks ago and it’s working well. I have an 2014 Std Viper (yes, with the heated seat… that I love) After 1300mi I made the following adjustments: Front Shocks/Springs: Before –...

    All day Viper Clutching..

Tom, thanks for all the info and straight-talk on this. I have a similar setup with Excell and the stock Yamaha weights find the fun factor the same as you. I do have my clutches done by Ulmer, so maybe, I have the best of both worlds. :jump: --Buster696--

    Excell Intake Kit-Intalled!

Excell Intake System installed! Also picked up Excell XV7 Performance Silencer, what an awesome piece, quality is excellent. Check out the Silencer from Hindle. This is a wasted purchase opening is smaller than the gasket that will restrict flow and loose HP, loud as heck, etc. Other silencer is...

    2010 Vector LTX Ski Options

Trying to find the best ski for the wifes sled. 2010 Vector LTX I have the following: Pilot 5.7, Stock skis, 2002 SRX Stock Ski. Or should I set her up with a newer Yamaha stock ski? Curve Skis? ??? She does not ride agressive just looking for input so she feels confident on the trail...

    SR Viper Hi-Flow Intake Kit

My sled went up 400~500 RPM with no clutching changes. Before = 8,200~8,300, after I added the filters 8,700~8,800. I'll let Allen comment about the HP increase as he has the Dyno sheets. --Buster696--

my XTX setup, ride and review

T, with that setup your RPM launch would be higher? What did your clutches hit at launch? Have you tried different rollers. I’ve found that 120 kb/total force seems to work with the 15mm rollers vs. 15.6mm rollers. Thanks for the info, I’ll give it a try after I get my sled back from the...

    Something let go in chaincase

KaaaaBoooom! Tom, My chain case let go yesterday so I feel your pain. Update was done at 600mi by dealer. 1143mi and the Viper is done. Reverse works/worked. Forward and all I hear is crunch-crunch-crunch. First time being pulled back riding a broke Yamaha sense the 1990's. Verrrry...

    Found our missing power.

IMO… gearing needs adjustment on this sled so the radio is below 2.00. If stock gearing for LTX is really 24/50 @ 2.08 ratio then my sled needs to get closer to a mid 1.9 ratio and then we should see more MPH. A 2.08 gear ratio is close to an ice drag 660ft and grass drag gear ratio with a...
