Yeah, thanks - I just looked them up and found part numbers and all, so I confirmed it. I don't know why I didn't use parts diagrams in the first place... I was thinking I wouldn't be able to tell the difference by the pictures. You actually can.
Help me out - I bought these two Nytros with different handlebar setups, and I need to replace one of them.
While I'm at it, I'd like to know which is which.
There's a 2008 40th anniversary edition, and a 2009 base model. Both are 121's.
The 2008 anniversary has these handlebars that are...
I just referred someone over to this thread, and realized that I never posted a picture of my fix.
You can see a few plates welded in at the top of the bracket:
I have a broken oil level sending unit connector. This is the plug you have to disconnect before you can check your oil.
Does anyone know if this cross-references to a Delco part number or something? I can't seem to find one anywhere.
Well, I fell victim to turning my primary backward (clockwise) while doing clutch work.
This thread talks about the issue, for those unfamiliar: https://ty4stroke.com/threads/always-rotate-your-clutch-ccw-to-prevent-issues-when-changing-clutch-parts.148632/
I heard some grinding and clicking...
I remember asking the seller if it had clutching work done to accommodate the SC, based on what I had read about SCs on a Nytro. He said no, it didn't need it. He also mentioned that it was dialed in by a performance shop somewhere around Grand Rapids.
I should also note that the reason I...
I didn't have any problems with overheating or oil loss. No head gasket problem, so nothing indicates the motor is hurting.
Last season was my first run with it, and it missed when you'd hit WOT from the start. Other than that, it runs fine. In February, I installed new sprockets, belt...
And that would be bad. I asked the guy if I needed to run special fuel and he said no, it's set up to run on pump gas. I was running standard octane early in the season last year (my first with the sled) and then went to 92-93 octane somewhere midway through the season. It ran a little...
Thanks MrSled! Reading now. It looks like you have a 26 on the bottom, 28 on the top. I can't see the numbers but I believe that's the standard setup it ships with.
Mine was built with 28-28. I replaced the pulleys and belt because they were worn and the belt was loose, and I went with...
You're exposing my ignorance here, but isn't the amount of boost determined by the pulleys? It's an MPI 180, and (working from memory here) I believe it's supposed to have 26 and 28 pulleys (can't remember now which was on top and which was on the bottom.) I think it's supposed to be running 7...
The previous owner installed a boost gauge, but no AFR. I'm looking at $200-300 to install an AFR gauge and sensor, and that just isn't feasible at the moment.
I was hoping I could dial in Gems to be "closer" than it is. This thing doesn't perform like it has a supercharger installed. I...
Hi all,
I have an 09 Nytro that I purchased last year with the MPI 180 already installed. I went through and put new pulleys and belt on it last year because it wasn't performing (and it's missing when revved high) and it really didn't make any difference.
The previous owner sat it up with...
I was going to suggest MPI because I bought new ones from them last year, so I'm probably no help. What did you mean by "not sure what's going on with mpi?"
Curious because I sent Josh a tech question and a follow-up email and have gotten no replies.
I've got a 2009 Nytro with the MPI stage 1 supercharger. I'm thinking about selling the sled.
I think it's likely that I'll have an easier time selling it without the supercharger. No one wants to pay much markup over a stock nytro of the same style.
So my question is, if I took it off and...
We may be talking about different things.
On this thread, several posts down, grizz has pics of enclosed tunnels and protectors.
https://ty4stroke.com/threads/tunnel-ice-anyone-ever-figure-out-a-way-to-stop-it.127104/
You said it has dual stainless exhaust? Are they still exhausting from the back of the seat, or under tunnel?
I'd like to see some pics of it.
Also, you mentioned the exhaust being exposed under tunnel. That is standard from the factory. Some guys are enclosing it, supposed to reduce ice...
