In Wisconsin I haven't ever been questioned on the trailer and the police can't look inside without reasonable suspicion. Not sure what the rules are in Canada.
At some point soon that trailer will need to be replaced, the steel undercarriage is getting pretty crusty from the road salt...
I don't normally tie the sleds down and if I do it is just a strap from the rear bumper to the closes tie-down point. They have never moved in this trailer, don't even set the brake. The tie-downs are there for when a car is loaded in the trailer. (the two wooden ramps on each side of the...
The dealer offered to let me try the TD Super Quiet Muffler.

I will have to look at that then, I think the TD max spool 16 is a 16PSI tune which I believe is the most that can be done with stock exhaust. Then again the yam dealer near my cabin agreed to let me try the high flow quiet exhaust w/ tune for a weekend this winter. As long as he is allowed...
I have plenty of waste expenses too. Right now there is a Poo 2-smoke motor on my workbench getting rebuilt to pretty much sit in the trailer in case the winder goes down. As a side note Polaris parts are stupid expensive and they do everything they can to make it so you have to buy through them.
This, so much. I am going to have at minimum 2K more into the sled beyond what it cost initially before I have even 10 miles on it... Except for me it was work said work from home now and Evers shut down Wisconsin so there is not much to do but work on cars and sleds.
I will counter others opinion here, although I am in the process of setting up my winder still I will be going with a multi-map from TD. The sled came with powertrail and they are offering an upgrade to the multi-map for fairly cheap. I will set clutching up for the 270HP tune where I plan to...
I almost certainly am overthinking it, call it the engineer in me trying to find the ideal solution combined with coronavirus boredom. I was never going to cut a hole in the air box. Assuming I end up making my own solution what I am thinking right now is vent out the bottom of the sled after...
It sounds like Travis just added a second vent going back into the motor. I am not sure how this would help in the event of a frozen valve when the entire oil system becomes pressurized to the point of tank failure. My understanding is that there must be a vent somewhere because as the oil...
That looks like just a pressure switch @ ~5PSI to dump 12V to the beeper? I suppose by the time pressure is built up in the tank if you just shut off and let the sled sit the engine bay gets warm enough to melt the ice in the valve opening it up. I like it.
If you have pictures that would be fantastic! Either way I will also be re-routing the vent tube somewhere that is not the intake. Just need to decide if I will do out the bottom of the sled or catch can, great examples of both here.
I am going to end up doing something about the vent on my sled in the next month or so (partially for something to do). Problem is I spend too much time doing stupid things and will end up with the sled on it's side so I don't want to remove the ROV entirely like some members. On your 2020 SRX...
Mr. Sled, Have you had any more thoughts about this? I am not entirely convinced that the catch can would pull water out of the higher pressure warm air before the ROV. It may in fact make it worse because there is no longer oil mixed with the water that would be in the valve...
Don't even get me started on 2-stroke oil. Running on my 2006 2-strokes they seemed so picky. One brand oil runs fine, another would smoke super heavy and foul plugs out... A third the reason I went to a 4 stroke is to not deal with oil. (1/3rd reliability and 1/3rd power).
It is sounding like I have another thing to do on the sled (heated valve and catch can). Might be annoying to empty it all the time but far better than having oil/water going into the engine.
