Week 2 in the books RTX now 400 miles

Yamadog, Excellent post. Glad to hear such a good report. That's why we bought these sleds. I am a bit jealous as conditions here in Maine aren't as favorable. Send some our way!

    Finally it`s here ...

Where are you from? You'll love it. I haven't been this excited about a sled season in some time. LaLaLa

Need advice on how many studs for new Attak quick!!!

I personally would go with the 162 studs. These sleds have a lot of hp and lots of torque. On a hard pack surface you'd be asking alot of a limited number of studs. Spacing out the load on the studs will keep you from overstressing the track. Also, be careful not to have too much penetration...

Apex/Attak's name on the bathroom wall!!!

An old teacher I had said "You know you're doing a good job when your name is on the bathroom wall". Otherwise people wouldn't even mention you. Yamaha is getting more discussion in other brand internet sites and among other brand sledders than any other time that I can remember. As far as...

Swiss Sledder, I know the one about the high beam button was for sure.

    A so so first ride

I'm gonna be the weird one on this post and say I love my new sled. It's very responsive, the suspension is awesome and it handles well. Seems to me some of you are splitting hairs on this. Did you expect a perfect sled? If you know of one let me know so I can buy it!

Light Bulb replacements for Warrior & Apex GT

Yup! That's the part # I was given as well. It's scary to think of how bright these will be since you can x-ray deer with the stock ones!

    Handlebar width smaller?

My sleds are 3 hours away where I normally ride, but, when I got a chance to ride last month it felt as though the handlebar width was shorter than on my Warrior. I didn't measure, but, am wondering if anyone else noticed it and, subsequently, confirmed it.

Apex RTX: The first 356 miles!

Excellent post and pics. By the way you wrote I felt like I was right there with you guys. Would've been nice since we currently have no snow at all. :o|

What 2 place enclosed trailer would you recommend?

I've got to agree with Hypertxer on the Sno-Pro. I've had mine for 3 seasons now with no problems and I do some serious traveling. Plus, here in the Northeast, they are readily available. I have a 10 ft. but, if I were buying new I'd go with the 12 ft. If you'd like a price from my dealer up...

Is $9248 OTD good for an Apex ER?

It's actually really simple. Some dealers sell on volume and make it up through ongoing service, etc. It's better to make $500. three times than to make $1000. once. If your dealership is in the right place such as a heavy riding area you can do this and make it work.

    WHAT TO GET ???

First of all, either sled would be great! But, which one is best for you is a matter of how and where you ride. If you stay on trails, like to ride agressively and want maximum handling get the Apex GT. If you like to ride on trails, but, want the option of heading off trail get the Attak. I...

    On the Fence

MightyWarrior is right. Because you want to do some off-trail riding the Attak is the obvious choice. I purchased a GT, but, I would have gotten an attak if I didn't already have a Warrior. I've ridden both and if you're giving anything up you wouldn't be able to tell. The Attak is a great...

What Are the BIG Guys Doing???

Nice to see some post from large individuals. Rock would be rather large as well. I tip the scales at 250 after a real good download in the morning! ;)!

    Saddlebags

A good solution I've found (which I shouldn't have to find) is to have some bags made at a local canvas shop. Usually they are pretty creative and can make it to accomodate your needs. The cost is the same or just a bit more depending on what you have done. I know that the guy I use always...

Suspension Help Needed for Older Yamaha

GodfatherPC, A new suspension would be a good idea. I would go with an M-10 if I were you. It provides a comfortable ride and it can be transferred to a new sled in the future. Meanwhile, I would ask around for a used pro-action skid to put on it when you let it go. You should be able...

    Apex or Attack

As far as 120 hp vs. 150 hp I would say either sled ridden irresponsibly is dangerous. Just because an Attak or Apex has 150 hp doesn't mean he's got to grab a fist full of throttle.
