Once again, not stock…LOL!
The nice thing is they probably have some coin into them. If they stuck a bunch of $$ into them to eek out a narrow win over a bone stock Winder I feel sorry for them. Less than a grand later it’s game over with the Winder.
Yeh definitely not a lot of traffic on this thread yet. The Yamaha Snowmobiles Facebook page does though and the complaining and whining is down right comical. Some totally ridiculous comments like build us a 2s that revs to 10,000 rpms!! I’m like what? Yeh that would be real efficient for the...
I think it looks great but I just don’t dig the electronic shocks. Most of us find the settings that work for our riding style and leave them alone. Just another thing to go wrong. I think I have changed the wire harness at least 3x on my old Attak GT.
The blue LTX-LE would be my choice. It has the best shock package, longer travel and EPS. The only thing I don’t like is the Turbo sticker. I really don’t like that on any of them to be honest, but that can be fixed pretty easy.
Not sure but I was told by a good informant there wasn’t a whole lot to be gained.
Another friend tried a clutch kit (not sure who’s) on his stock Winder and it didn’t seem to do anything over the stock setup as far as performance goes. In fact I thought he went backwards.
It feels kind of soft on bottom end but overall it’s clutched well from the factory. When mine was stock (Stx Dx) with the 137” 1.6” Cobra and no studs my friend had a new Assault 850. On snow pack he would get me out of the hole a good 4 lengths or so but by 300-400 feet I was side by side and...
A well tuned 900R takes lots of $$$ to destroy a run of the mill tuned 998T. It’s nothing to run into 275-300 hp tuned Winders. To get beyond those hp numbers on a 900R you are in a cost range that you might as well buy another sled.
What’s the old saying a fool and his money?
It’s still the king IMHO, it beats it stock and yes those tuned Boosts are fast but not so much on pump fuel.
Lets see, now with Doo’s new 850 turbo we’ll have a true use for all the back packs. They can carry injection oil, Meth fluid and Octane booster.
Good grief!!
A couple of my retired...
Both SRX’s lost their cranks at 10k. His higher mileage one he gets it running good and then it mysteriously pops a cylinder. Believe me he’s been through the ringer with everything on them and he’s no dummy.
The Viper lost spark on the mag side, new plug wires, new CDI, new coils, new...
I knew all along there would be plenty of performance to be had with these 2s turbos. But as we all know there’s no argument on the longevity of the engines when it comes to a 2s vs a 4s whether it has a turbo or not.
My good friend who is a die hard Yamaha guy and also still a two stroke guy...
Yamaha and Cat just signed a new deal.
It was Suzuki that told Cat several years ago they will no longer build any new designed engines for Cat or the snowmobile industry. That’s why they built the 2s plant in St Cloud and also connected with Yamaha for 4s engines.
