Thumb Warmer Low - Not Wired?

Hmmm .... Well, I know the heating element resistance is out of spec. So that's a clear warranty claim. Tonight I'll actually check out the switch itself to see if I get power for both the low and high settings.

Thumb Warmer Low - Not Wired?

Since brand new, I've always questioned whether or not my thumb warmer was actually working. Many days I had no issue as my thumb wasn't cold, and I simply assumed it was working even though I couldn't feel it. Other days, my thumb was a meat popsicle and I swore the warmer wasn't working. So...

How many have changed gearing on an n/a viper/7000?

Cannondale - I'll add something to your point about clutch efficiency. I've had stock gearing on my RTX from the get go. When it was NA, the best top speed I got out of it was around 102. But it took absolutely perfect conditions, engine running well above 9000rpm, and the clutch working at...

    2019 release

I my guess is that it is most likely market demand driven. At the time, Polaris was deemed the best handling sled and best front end suspension. So everyone wanted 'that front end'. So that's what all the manufacturers (except Cat) made. Sometimes it doesn't matter if your product/design can...

post your pic of knee pads

^ - What he said. Yes, those are made by Racewerx. Yes, that is a pic of a Viper. I have the Racewerx ones on my Viper. They are a very nice piece, fit perfectly with the sled's body lines, the adhesive is great, and I think they look really nice. The do provide some nice grip against your...

    Turbo Viper Clutching - RPM's

With the MPI trail turbo, you really don't want to run any higher than 8600. As I understand it, above 8600 the stock fuel system (fuel pump, injectors, etc) have trouble keeping up. Which can put you into a lean situation. For average trail conditions, I'd shoot for a target rpm of 8400...

Temp gauge acting up ? 2015 viper

Yes - limited rpm when the sensor acted up. That's because with the hosed up sensor, it tells the ECU that the engine is cold. On a cold engine, the ECU will limit rpm to just below clutch engagement. I can't remember if I had a code or not.

Temp gauge acting up ? 2015 viper

Most likely it's a bad temp sensor. Had the same thing happen to me. Sled would be running normal temps, then immediately would drop to a cold temp. Which would then tell the ECU that the engine is cold and would limit RPM. Then it would jump back to normal temp and engine would run fine...

C&A skis making my sled turn hard?

I run C&A razors on my Viper. Yes they are aggressive and with a single runner carbide they will turn like driving a bulldozer. But here’s the magic trick. You don’t need different spring. You just need to swap out the single runner carbide with Woody’s Slim Jim Dually carbides. It will...

So. Whats in those backpacks that everyone is wearing?

For me it changes depending on the ride. I don't have a huge luggage bag on my sled as I usually travel light. But there are days when I carry around a few more items that won't fit into my small-ish bag on the sled. Those are the days when I throw on the back pack. For probably 80% of my...

    Bar risers

Stock riser on your LTX is 5.5". Cat has the same riser as stock in heights of 6.5", 7.5" and 8.5". I think you can get them in bare aluminum or painted black for around $50-$60.

    Viper reflash/starting

I picked one up from Batteries Plus. It's a AMG Duracell Ultra. It's a typical lead acid battery, but built extra strong, sealed and can be mounted in any position (specifically built for powersports). 310 CCA. Has been working great so far. Sled even started right up at almost -20 deg F.

    Viper reflash/starting

I’m running the original 15 flash. Since I went turbo it starts better. But I noticed that since I recently replaced the stock battery, it starts really good. My replacement has more CCA than the stock one. Pops off quite nice now. You might want to try that first if you are still on the original.

Yes it does. I put one on my RTX. It sits an inch or two taller than the trail seat. I love it! There's a black one for sale in the classifieds: https://ty4stroke.com/threads/f-s-new-mountain-seat-for-viper.149271/

Snowtrax to have a major announcement tomorrow!!!

Snowtrax and the other big sled media outlets covered the Polaris Evo when it was released. But they certainly didn't give it the same fanfare that the gave to the Doo. That's because (and Snowtrax seems to be the worst of them) all go ape-#*$&@ over anything Doo does as if they can do no...
