    SX Viper 1049cc

The sled will see plenty of rough trail use, so it will not be too low. Plus a jacked up trailing arm sled just looks downright mean... It will be a balancing act. Ultimately it's just the chosen platform... Rear suspension will be a 128" Mono II. front may get long arms, maybe I'll mess with...

    SX Viper 1049cc

I'm looking forward to coming up with a bundle snakes header. Should be tons of room and similar routing to the SR Viper.

    SX Viper 1049cc

Who is interested in a 4 Stroke SX Viper? Well then, you have come to the right place! I recently picked up a 2002 SX Viper ER, and while the triple 2 stroke is a neat engine, I have not owned a 2 stroke sled since roughly 2006, it was quickly realized that I do not miss the exhaust.... or the...

HyGear rear coil over shock for Apex & Vectors 2016-2018

A single 46mm shock should be the minimum required here. A 36mm unit simply doesn't even come close to the capacity needed.

    Yamaha has new sleds coming

Does anyone remember what saves the day in the original Jurassic Park Movie? A gasoline Jeep. Grandpa John specifically requests a gasoline Jeep be taken to rescue the grand kids (seriously, go watch it). Petrol also saves the day on several other occasions when electric fails. In the books they...

    Nyper build thread

Wow! Fantastic build going on here. If it hasn't been mentioned, possibly look at adding a swirl pot/deaeration tank to the cooling system. That item can really save day and keep the coolant doing the job.

    smoothest sled

I do not, but do have thousands of suspension development trail miles with the BIG APE. The heavyweight will smash the end of the day whooped out trails, with a proper mono set up.... and still eat chatter. No BS. The shock conversions were just too expensive and probably a little late to the...

    smoothest sled

The original mono was designed 20 years back... for snocross.

    smoothest sled

Not only will it take the 2 - 3' bumps, but the same skid will eat chatter all day. The falling rate requires that extra secondary piston damping for the final 1/3 of the travel. It's like hydraulic bump stop for a desert truck.

    smoothest sled

When properly sprung, valved, and containing a bottom out device, such Ohlins PDS or Fox BOC, the mono is exceptional at all of it.

    2013 Nytro sub frame

Yes, that's a great score! The Nytro is a different machine with that front end. Inspect the subframe for cracks near the lower steering shaft mount.

    Apex Donut Elimination Mod

Try Jagco... https://jagco.net/ I used them when I built my header couplers back in 2005. They were very helpful and knowledgeable...

Installing an extra radiator RS Viking

Don't forget to tweak your coolant/H2O ratio. A better coolant degas tank would likely help, too. https://hellafunctional.com/?p=629

    Which Apex was the Best?

My brother in law had an 06 GT... it was awful on any thing more than small moguls and stutters. Full Ohlins Shocks with PDS (bottom out secondary piston stuff), 2.8 kg springs up front, a 5.5 kg titanium spring in the rear, a 13mm sway bar, and a predator track ... it f@$&ing gobbled up...

lets hear it for the 2020 Viper

The new red color combo reminds me of something from my childhood.... ahhh there it is, Maximilian!

Happy with Mono, will I like single shot---129"

The mono can be turned into a have your cake and eat it too skid, but it needs mods to do so. If I ever pick up another sled, it will have the mono.

I still have the couplers in the garage.

    Flex joint/donut elimination kit

I utilized some heavy duty couplers back in 2005 when I built the header for my Rage. That project was more in line with looking for gains, as we didn't know too much about the failing exhaust donuts at that time. https://ty4stroke.com/threads/custom-high-flow-header-and-flex-couplings.21102/...
