If you do annual maintenance on your sled and really check the bushings you have a fair chance at catching any in need of replacement prior to failure. This will keep your maintenance costs well below taking unnecessary preventative upgrade measures.
I think most serious issues were ironed out well before 2014. I've considered a Phazer myself as a fun local trail sled. With only 500 miles you're not going to find much wear & tear issues unless it was owned by Evil Kinevil.
All above is good info. If you have an older sled with a bit of slop in the steering I recommend a bungy across the ski tips to make sure you don't go beyond 0 toe in.
Back in the 70's with the engine in your lap, you couldn't get more mass centralized than that. Sled handling didn't improve until the engine was moved forward over the skis. Sleds were lighter then too. Just an observation.
If it owes you nothing why not just keep it. There's gonna be a handful of awesome days with fresh snow you'll want to use it so why limit your recreational choices? Maybe a better question is, what other activity is a little snowmobiling preventing you from enjoying?
Vectors are harder to sell than Apexes and with 10K miles you're pretty much doomed. In Maine you'd be really lucky to land 5K (US) for it. We all know it's just broken in, but the rest of the sled world won't give it a second look.
Been chasing this issue for the last couple seasons and finally found the culprit by setting up a mirror behind the sled so I could watch the taillight while jostling wires around. Found a white connector under the hood where the wires are coupled together. I would not consider this a grounding...
