You seem to do a lot of that too about this new engine that doesn't have detailed public specs and nobody other than the factory has had their mechanical hands on.
I hate to say but Yamaha will never make their own sled again. I'm also tired of 8 years of the same machine besides BNG and power steering. I pulled the trigger on an 850 turbo. I personally think it will give my SW a run for it's money. Worst case it will be closer than my wife's 850. Change...
Ran mine for the first time last weekend. 1" of rain was rough on the trails. They worked great! The only thing I noticed was the tip had more wear than I expected for the 150ish miles I put on.
I told my wife if Skidoo comes out with a turbo 850 trail sled I was buying..............and here we are.
We bought her an 850 this year after totaling her '14 Venture GT last year. She absolutely loves it............and I kind of do too. Comparing my SW to the MXZ I prefer the front of the SW...
After terrible darting on my 21 with Stryke skis I bought the semi aggressive snow trackers. While it needs some fine tuning, it went from a darting nightmare to one handed triple digit machine. I still need to play with it but am extremely happy with them.
Bought my wife's MXZ for less than retail from a very good local dealer. I've bought a couple sleds from them. Being in the marine industry, my summers are tied up so winter hobbies it is, ice fishing and snowmobiling.
First ride and trip of the season to Cable, WI. Family trip so mileage was low but had a blast. Roughly 100 miles over 2.5 days. Don't mind my wife, she decided to go to the dark side this year lol.
Yes, the redhead's single certainly weighed less than the triple SRX pipes. Don't forget about the silencer. The SRX silencer was HEAVY lol. Add in the exhaust valve system, and I'd say it's a safe bet the SRX was heavier. Even with the extra weight, the SRX was a lot faster than the SXR.
Going back to the previous generation SRX (98-02), there was nothing special in regards to weight savings that I'm aware of. I'd bet the SXR 700 redhead was lighter.
Our '14 GT has been great. My wife loved the EPS upgrade from her Apex. Yes the track howls, I just ignore it. It's really only in a 10 mph window but unfortunately is the window you most ride in on the trail. I will say it's tippy, but probably no worse than you '10. We ride 2 up often and it...
I was up there all week staying at Four Seasons Resort. Had a great time and trails were amazing. Friday some other friends came into town and we rode for the day. Unfortunately we never made it down to the races. The ice Friday night was crazy. I'd guess 3/8" thick. I loaded up Friday evening...
In my case it wouldn't have mattered. Mine blew the BOP seal out WITH the engine temp at ~150F while warming up. Could be a faulty ROV heater. Either way I chose to bypass to eliminate another ruined trip.
