Getting rid of the roll over valve

I have not seen a decrease in oil level since deleting. I only check the oil level with engine up to operating temp and letting it sit off for a few min.

Getting rid of the roll over valve

Yes, you will get an oily smell and the cap will have some condensation on it. All normal.

    2022 oil tank sealant.

I used Permatex Right Stuff after my BOP gasket blew out from a frozen ROV and frozen bypass (my fault). Only 1 trip and ~300 miles so far and good to go. Also deleted the ROV so I shouldn't have any issues going forward.

20th Anniversary Give Away Ride Pics

I didn't take as many pics as most years. We had a great time as usual! Looking forward to next year.

Not much action here. Winder/Cat 998's are close to perfected for the most part...

Looking like you may get some snow Monday and Tuesday. Beautiful area to ride in SE MN. A friend and I trailered down there a few years ago when you guys got a 12" March dump. Trails and snow were great for 1 day lol. We dropped off across the street from the ski hill in a field. When we took...

Anyone have a radar detector mounted?

That's our plan too (Cable) but ultimately may move over there. My former boss has a cabin on a lake in Spooner, if that's where you're at too.

Anyone have a radar detector mounted?

I know, and I'll continue to spend my money elsewhere.

Getting rid of the roll over valve

I was in denial for a long time, until a blown seal ruined a trip a couple weeks ago. That will never happen again!

Anyone have a radar detector mounted?

Exactly why I do not book trips in MN anymore. I've raised this issue with MNUSA many times and they do not seem to want to change it. Which is why I no longer support MNUSA either with my $$$. MN is losing out on a lot of tourist money to WI and MI. I've talked to many people while on trips who...

Getting rid of the roll over valve

Yes, EPA requires all engines to burn their own oil vapor. Unfortunately, in a turbo charged engine, this vapor must be introduced prior to the turbo which means it will oil up your turbo, hoses, and intercooler. Most modern car, truck, and industrial engine applications have a method of...

Getting rid of the roll over valve

While I have one trip on my deleted ROV, I've made it a habit to kick the end of the hose before startup, especially first startup of the day. I've found every time, some white oily ice falls on the ground. I could see this freezing up on a cold morning starts but not after running and stopping...

    Blown BOP Oil Tank Seal

300ish miles in Munising this weekend and all was good. Thanks for everyone's help. Truck didn't do as well. DEF gauge didn't move after I filled it. 150 mile count down came on 120 miles from home. Made it but the dealer will have to pick it up. Leave for my last trip of the year 2 weeks from...

    Blown BOP Oil Tank Seal

ROV bypass installed. I was surprised how much air is coming out of the new tank hose when idling. Made it from the garage to the trailer with no leaks. Loaded and heading to Munising this evening. I will have the (now) bent tunnel Venture as a backup.

    Blown BOP Oil Tank Seal

I've seen my SW exhaust glowing at night. I also would hope the exhaust is not running over 2000F

    Blown BOP Oil Tank Seal

I did use the copper antisieze mostly because that's what I had on hand. Container says good to 2000F. I'll see if I can find some nickel with a higher rating when I take it apart next time.

    Blown BOP Oil Tank Seal

She's back together. Doesn't seem to be any leaks but I think this thing is going to leak here an there for a while. There was oil everywhere. One concern I have is the oil made it into the insulation of the muffler. A little smoky even idling in the garage. I'll have to keep an eye on it for...

    Blown BOP Oil Tank Seal

Interesting, I understand the issue with studs and removing the muffler. I thought most were getting rid of the stock bolts. I'll see if I still have them on the bench. Otherwise I'll put my replacements in for this weekend and order new. I did chase the threads in the turbo and put copper...

I like your technique of opening the oil cap. I blew my tank seal last weekend and the engine was up to 150F. Fixing it now and deleting the ROV.

    Blown BOP Oil Tank Seal

Thanks, this was done but still came loose. I guess I will need to keep a closer eye on them. I hate to get crazy tightening them down and strip the turbo threads. I've seen a company that sells studs. Maybe I should look into this option.
