Get rid of the Yamaha skids and put on a set of Cat skis and the darting will be gone or damn close to it. I had 7.5" shaper bars on my TCAT, and I could drive 1 hand no problem anywhere. I also shimmed them a 1/4". but I am not sure I even needed too.
Mike, Funny thing is when I bought my Hurricane PM from Dave he sent me a small bolt and nut to use on the middle inside with the head on the inside and nut for the outside. I also used TomCats bolts and I never had any issues with the muffler coming loose. I also agree about running the tap...
Its better on fuel with After market muffler. You can smell the fuel being burned on the stock muffler tune. The stock muffler with just a tune is a little laggy IMO. The 998 needs to breath as the boost is cranked. The Hurricane muffler has a deeper tone at idle, but IMO, is close to stock...
Ya, it was last season and I have since sold the sled, so I am NOT 100%, but for the TEAM Clutches, I think it was from the back of primary to the machined surface of the outside of the secondary! Not that it matters based on how I measured but I used the stock Cat belt. I dont use the...
I believe the offset should be 62.5. Mine was off until I fixed the stub shaft. I originally measured at 66mm and my clutches were hot. After the stub shaft fix, I got it to 63 and no more heat and no more dust. Stock clutches on my 2020tcat
Yamaha has different variations of the pro cross chassis, Cat does to, but they use their own engines. As Earthling has indicated, they probably set it up that way in regards to the 998. Cat needs a 4 stroke, and they don't have any if they drop the 998.
The only video I seen against a sidewinder was in real soft snow and it was a 129". Not really ideal for a sidewinder and does not indicate how they really perform.
On a open spot on a hard packed groomed trail (1400 feet), my sled will hit 118-120 on gps with the 240-270-300SStune. It just gets there faster on the higher tunes. I run this same strech of trail alot during the year and the results are the same. Stock 1" track came on the 2020 TCATS with...
If you are trail riding most of the time, then leave the 1" track, stud with 1.50" studs. If you don't care about top end as much, then put the TCAT gearing in it, 24/50. Hold on..
