Sorry I forgot to update. But instead of the “penny” idea(because I couldn’t get it behind the piston) I grabbed two plastic spacers and put them on the piston and reinstalled. I can use the idle adjuster knob to adjust idle where I want the sled to sit and idle, then I removed the coolant lines...
Ground block is ok
Yeah it’s right starter solenoid…you or @maim confirmed for me couple months back
I will have to test and check relay wires. But I did just find this!!
Why would the brand fuse be so bad already?
This is the only black flat ground I have left. Didn’t want to cut it and fuse it together as it’s quite tight.
Does this relate to a fuel pump issue at all?
It’s brand new! It’s got 482 km on it. If you recall I did everything..battery, starter, fuses and most of the ground plugs I thought
I guess I need to take the breathers off again and check it out underneath. Thanks
I thought I read it was the opposite. Frowned upon asking the same questions over and over when there’s multiple threads on starting issues.
I’m kinda just reading away hoping for the answer like I did with the other issues I’ve had
But my sled is an 06 lol
Now I have no fuel pump at all and the fuel pump relay is new. I think it might be a ground block I didn’t do at the top left where all the quick connects are. Sled took a lot of water last weekend
So fuel should be spraying out of that fitting when you turn the key?
im having some kind of the same issue. New relay and pump hums a bit when key is turned. Won’t start when I crank it now although I put 500kms on the sled last weekend up in north bay/Mattawa
I got the IAC off. Not sure if there’s any issue lol. But there’s no spring in the thermowax and I thought for sure the Yamaha mechanic said there would be…
Maybe it’s the boots!! They’ve never been touched
I can’t get the IAC off…I guess I need to take the whole throttle body off eh? Hoses and everything is so tight…probably should check those boots at the back as you can’t even see them
Great info, thanks! This is the thermowax? The mechanic at Yamaha did say the spring is probably broke inside here. But yes the idle adjustment screw does nothing at all when turned.
So Yamaha says it’s the idle control solenoid. I need a new one but they don’t make them anymore…told me to go find a used one. So this is what you call a IAC, correct?
So I did this and all 4 horns were different. When sitting on the machine…the far left sucked like a vacuum…next one did half and then the other two didn’t do anything to my hand.
But like @74Nitro said. I may need someone experienced in that department. If anymore has any numbers near...
That’s what I’m afraid of….1000$ later and i won’t get it back until January pfff
i can fix anything if you tell/show me how….I build homes from the ground up. But get me to the point that I cannot go any further on my own
What about tapping into the accessory outlet line and then installing a 5 amp into the fuse box? Is that a good idea too? I read that prior to seeing your message elsewhere
