I think it is just the conception that you have take lots of stuff apart to get to things. It isn't hard to do, just different. Kind of like working on a new car, you can fiddle around and try to get things out, but in the end you are better to just remove what you need and do the work. One...
I had a misfire issue as well, it seemed to be throttle position related. I looked at the throttle position on the display and could see no issue, however I had to tear the sled apart to fix the starter issue, I went through the and cleaned all of the connections. The few times I had it out...
I know in the past small gear changes really didn’t impact the clutching rpm. Being this is the mtx, which I believe has smaller drivers. I am gonna give the 18 tooth gear a shot.
To be honest I didn't plan to play with the clutching. I am looking to drop the cruising RPM anyway. Maybe I should just go up one tooth, at around 9500 previously would drop me down to around 9000.
Will the 19 fit on my MTX and still be able to use the same chain? Interested in selling your 19? Easy change? I had my gear case apart a few years back to replace the leaky grommet(and put in the upgraded one). Just pull the battery, outer plastic, drain case, and pull outer case?
I know this is an old thread, but I am trying to find out some details on the tunnel bag, I am looking for something for my 2007 Phazer MTX. Does this mount with just 2 straps(on the front) or does it have 4? The phazer really doesn't have anything to pull it up to, so thinking I need to mount...
What about something like this on a phazer MTX? I could take the yamaha toolbox off of my MTX and put it on the RTX.

So I picked up some hifax, and it looks like they have the same rail shape as the older yamaha's. These look much thicker, but looks like my hifax from an 00SRX would go onto the phazer rails. Did they ship me the wrong Hifax?
Thanks for the feedback, anybody see any issues with riveting a belt clip on the back of the sled and putting the belt in that? Sleds don't sit out, so sun on the belt wouldn't be an issue. Also some more info is I have an 08 which had the belt jammed up front, and then my 07 has the storage...
Where are people storing these? I had read that some are storing these on top of the clutch shield, does it really fit? Sure doesn't look like it will.
