What do folks recommend for a replacement. I don't wanna break the bank. Also what are the pointers for changing it? It wasn't too bad, put it on the primary, then started it on the top of the secondary, had someone pull the sled backwards while I worked it on.
I do have a set of scratchers on my MTX(1 3/4"). I ended up finding some of the cheap ones for $16 each, bought 4 of them. I think I had like $75 in them to my door. Figured I will give them a go.
Duponts around $70 each.
Looks like probably less than 500 a year. Have had the Mountain since 2013, the RTX, and venture lite since 2014. We really struggle to find time to travel much, we typically just ride around here local. All of the sleds are around 3000 miles, so I am guessing...
What sliders do folks recommend for 2008 phazer RTX? Where to pick them up? Garland sells a higher performance one, worth it? Are the Duponts worth it?
One of mine appears to be cross threaded/galled. I could run a tap down it,but figured this could be picked up cheaply. Also mine appears to be an older part number. Mine is a large ss bushing with a he on it, and then a bolt
Any thought to cutting a little on the factory piston to get compression down? What about a valve job and opening up some area around the valves? I haven't done any type of calcs, but think that might get it.
So on my 2007 MTX, I picked up a used W arm with the aluminum upgraded link. I noticed that the steel insert that came with this one the bolts go into, is much shorter than my 2007 one. Any reason to change to the newer style? What it looks like to me is the older one would let the steel...
Are you sure it doesn't compensate for temp and altitude settings? I agree with the open loop statement, but imagine it uses intake air temp and barometric pressure to shift the fuel curves.
So does an MTX take longer to take the suspension out? I find that I have to take the tension off or the torsion springs to get the bolts out. Also I am upgrading my w arm and having problems getting the Allen bolt set screws out. Any suggestions, I twisted an Allen wrench clear off. Soaking...
I have never had an issue cold starting, but my phazers sit inside. Curious what is the issue is, ECU not allowing fuel? If unit is out of warranty, I assume the ECU is expensive. What are some other fixes? Just a small squirt of starting fluid?
