Finally got to try my new 7" Powder Hounds out over new years. Went with 6" carbides. The jury is still out as there really wasn't much snow to speak of. Darting seems to be about the same as the stockers. No worse.
Got my bushings machined down to be a perfect size so that the skis are equally spaced on the spindles. The bushing inside the spindles really doesn't seem to have the wear and ovaling here that some described so I left them alone for now. The skis are about .6" toe out. Will see how that...
Ok, so the bushings from SlyDog are too wide to fit around my spindle. Have people somehow cut those? Looks like the new rubber from Slydog will work between the skis and the spindle. Are more narrow bushings available somewhere? I don't know the size that I would need.
I guess, I'm still...
I actually think the new rubber will work upon further inspection. I wonder if one couldn't find some new spacers right at menards instead of cutting.

So I got my 7" sly dogs today and I can see what other posters have said. The Phazer mounting kit would have to have the inner bushings cut or ground down to fit on the venture lite spindles. My question is why not use the bushings from the old skis that are already the right width? Also...
So I took my tensioner axle out tonight. I bought this sled used so I don't know the history.... it appears that the middle tensioner wheel has replaceable bearings. The two side tensioner wheels don't appear to have any way to get the bearings out or even access them to lube them. I'm...
Am I right in seeing that 10 of those idler wheels are the same part? Some of my bearings were actually rusted. Not sure when to replace but I'm thinking I might buy news ones for the 4 that are on the inside of the track since they are hard to replace and then take the 6 best ones left and...
Actually I pulled the plastic seal off one of the wheels and the bearings seem to be fine. The grease is just hardened. I think I'll try to hit them with some degreaser, then blow them out and repack with white lithium.
Yeah I found the wheels on the Yamaha site, but aren't these the guys for the idler wheels?

I guess something like this might work:

Or these. They are quite a bit cheaper...
Yeah I don't know. Most of the 6 idler bogie wheels seem like they sure don't spin very easily. The bushing probably spins before the bearings do. They aren't locked up but hard to spin. Where can I find these yamaha accessory wheels?
Skid is out. Hyfax are off and new ones ordered. How does one know if Bogie wheels are ok. None of mine show excessive slop or wear on the wheels themselves. Almost none of mine will freely spin if I roll them with my hand. I don't know if they should. There are no signs of grinding that...
Id like to figure out how mine is set right now, but for the life of me, I can't figure out the diagram in the service manual. Does anyone have a better diagram or pictures?
