Tapp is really good at helping out with those issues. Saw a twisted tapp last winter off a tcat here in maine with 360 or 375hp “small tune” on gap big turbo. I believe Dave fixed it for him at no cost.
I use 229 red supreme. They likely have better choices for my equipment but its the one I tried and it does everything I need it too and ive stuck with it. Ive used greases that should be better on paper, but if they dont stay put they dont do their job. This is my 3rd mechanical harvester and...
If the grease provided by tapp doesnt seem to last as long as one would like and they want to explore other options my suggestion would be to look at what schaeffers has to offer. I have used many brands over the year including amsoil and other “top” brands. Nothing even comes close to having...
My take on the viney muffler………
Beautiful craftsman ship that I have only seen matched by precision or sandale. Tone at wide open throttle is very similiar to the 2.5” SQ. Idle and low rpm cruise is definitely louder than the 2.5sq. My wife drove by a warden that had a sled pulled over and we...
The 2.5sq has always been made by Td as far as I know. The original 3” magnaflow td sold was sold and labeled as the “3” viney fab”. Kyle had kids and didnt want the big workload so he stopped making them in mass quanities and sticks to mostly local work and occassional other builds when people...
He used to make them for TD and TD sold them as the 3 inch viney fab. When he stopped making them, they started making their own and Call it the 3 inch superquiet. Exact same magnaflow muffler just the mounts aren’t as nice as what Kyle does on his.
JT I have no desire to see anyone stick with anything, you can fill the cavity with vaseline or elmers glue and it makes no difference to me. My point was that it includes grease in the kit that you are paying for when you buy it. Dave tested with that grease and it meets the heat and load...
I wouldnt overthink the grease too much. Regardless of how good you think your grease is it will not last forever. You wont know what intervals it need’s disassembly till their some miles on these kits but it is not a one and done kit, cant be. It may be once a season, every oil change or more...
Tetraethyllead Substitute is used in some octane booster’s like klotzfor example. Boostane and Torco use MMT. MMT will separate over time but does not do this in Boostane‘s formula, which is why it can be considered a “better” option than torco. Idont believe lead substitute is used in the...
They are not the same , the premium is street oriented with roughly a 100 octane capability. It is less potent and requires more oz per gallon to raise octane to a comparable level as professional formula. Professional has a capability of 116 octane and is more race focused.
Yes factory wiring works and doesnt give any trouble for many but upgraded kit from boost kinetics is a nice piece and eliminates any possibilities of issues with electrical.
1/4 will fit with effort and 5/16 slips right on. Clamped properly it doesnt leak. Restrictions in return line will...
Gonna depend on helix which You already know but 2-3 worked well with straight 35 and ultimax. Im guessing 38 or over youll be atleast 3-3. Initial pressure seems to be little less than black orange and good finish pressure. Seemed to cruise at lower rpm than black orange in my experience.
MS17 lean and MS19 are not included with closed loop because closed loop target afr is similiar on all the tunes so wouldnt be much benefit as its adapting to certain conditions like you mentioned. That is what I was told from TD when closed loop was released.
If you upgrade your pump and let TD know they will send you the bundle than includes MS17 lean and MS19. They do not include it if you are running stock pump because large pump is a requirement with these 2 tunes. I have very little experience with MS19 but I prefer MS17lean over MS17. Max17 is...
The tuner sells the tunes without making afr gauge a requirement. They are usually clear with required hardware and fuel requirement. If everything is just right sled should run fine and be in the afr range the tuner intended............buttttt lots of other things can through afrs out of safe...
Yes you really have to watch where you buy those pumps from. Ebay and amazon and other places are full of the clones. There is a way to decipher them but I cant for the life of me remember where I saw the differences to look for.
Yes I have a precision belly pan protector and I drilled a bunch of holes in it to allow air through the guard along with whatever will flow around it.
