The cat/yamaha system defaults to the last position you were on if you have an issue, not firm unless you were on firm previously. I never had much interest in the system till I purchased a sled with it……now id rather not go without. In my opinion its nearly as much as a game changer as the...
They have or used to have an aluminum one that ended up being junk but never heard a bad thing about this one. Havent purchased one to confirm but it says drivers are trued up for perfection so thats an added bonus over buying a new oem shaft. Chances are they actually installed them in the...
Awesome thanks, I had missed were you had shared Your thoughts on the other post. I am sure a conventional round bar runner will take a little bit of the edge off. I am like you, I don’t like having to hang off the side of a sled to make it handle, a bit of a lazy rider as well.
Skidoo scratchers will work but the best for snow spray is what came on it. Yes you may possibly bend one on occassion if not careful but not really an issue for me personally as I only ise reverse a couple of times a winter at best. Weird your having excessive slide wear though, my xtx had...
Have no clue on availability on the riots but liking ours so far, eps and iact are welcoming features and topped off with a quiet clutch and side panels that just fall into place. The adapt has alot of shift force and doesnt need alot of weight. Been experimenting all winter it feels with the...
I dont usually use them but I dont hate them either. Ones like 33/35 are useless imo but 35/39 is a great cruiser when spending alot of time at 60+ mph. They cruise at low rpms and pull good at speed and you dont give up anything down low vs a straight 35. With that said I dont find the...
I intentionally rode my 23 riot for 1700 miles with no shaft saver. Dissaembled everything to take a look and not a scratch on bearing or shaft but it showed evidence it had spun as I had a small groove developing on rotor. Cleaned up easy with a file. Bearing fits on shaft better than I have...
I mentioned in another post on this topic but you need to adjust your beft deflection if your getting squealing at idle, your belt is a bit too tight. Remove a thin shim from behind the secondary mounting bolt and this should loosen your belt slightly and squeal will go away. It will have no...
Good to know, I kinda assumed it was the compression setup as its the only thing quite different and I noticed it bone stock with their big helix and it becomes a little more pronounced with bigger springs or shallower helixs but none the less I really like it…
Nice reviews on these skis, may give them a try next season. The proclimb g2’s on my riot work well but they were alot better on my 137 then they are on the 146’s. Having power steering allows you to ignore the effort part and just make sure the characteristic’s are what your looking for.
Im still playing around with clutching. If its cold out and conditions are hard the stock helix is pretty sweet. When conditions are anything but hard it just doesnt work well and hard to get consistancy. Stm torsion conversion wound up fairly tight is a big help and so is a slightly stiffer...
Have you always run the 8dn belt? Stock sidewinder belt is 8jp but 8dn will work but its typically 3-4mph slower on top end. The squeal at idle just means your belt deflection needs to be loosened up a bit.
Get a radiator pressure test kit at harbor freight. Pump it up to 15psi and start looking everywhere, youll find it. Do this cold engine and 99% of leaks will appear under pressure. I do this to my logging equip every spring to find any dribbles as its not uncommon after a cold winter and many...
Although I dont participate in any racing against anyone other than myself I have big respect for the fast guys wether it be to 660 or 5 miles. They both require knowledge and testing and tuning to accomplish. Big speeds takes chassis efficiency and perfect clutching balance and perfect gear set...
Dalton said same as team springs which is why they didnt produce any specific for adapt. Said the poundage numbers are the same and will act as expected.
Wayyyyyy over clutched. Same spring in secondary they used previously with the 58-49 compound cut but now its full progressive 58/49 so secondary is soft. Lot of belt slip with cat belt and even some with ultimax!! Currently using stm torsion conversion with stock helix and green spring on 5th...
Still trying different setups but slowly learning. No problems with primary clutch on either sled yet and it works well. I have seen some failures on facebook but not 100% convinced its the clutch just yet. Some companies are using yamaha weights with side spacers and I think this is bad news...
