who has studded the 137 ltx le what size and how many

Just the Yammy ones off the shelf. Comparable in price to anything else and got 2000 miles on em now and seem OK. Shapers were Yammy's too and same thing-seem to be good

who has studded the 137 ltx le what size and how many

No, the stock ones didn't last 1 ride. Not sure if they use cheaper steel or what but they were junk inside of 150 miles.

who has studded the 137 ltx le what size and how many

I have a 137" DX, 144 studs up the middle, double backers on all, 4-2-2. Works excellent. 6" shapers inside and round 4" on outside, handles awesome.

    Viper tunnel/running board smut

Good! I posted a while back and got no replies, thought I was the only one with the same issue. Mine is worse than the pic, and have many rivets with the paint cracked around the heads. Its at the dealer now for repair, which is fine, but what happens when I'm out of warranty??? I hope Yamaha...

    time to summerize. any input?

From what I've been told by mechanics is you should not do your oil change in the spring, wait until fall and drain any moisture from condensation over summer with it. Fresh oil with a fresh start and ready to ride. As for fuel goes, again from what I've been told by numerous mechanics I'd that...

    Bad Rivets

Has anyone else had problems with their rivets on their tunnel and running boards? I had one replaced under warranty and now the head has sheared off. I also noticed approx 8 others that the paint is cracked around head meaning they are moving. At the front mount of rear suspension there is grey...

    Storage bags

Where did you guys find room on the top of the belt guard for a belt? I tried it there and it was uncomfortably tight. Ended up mounting a belt clip under the clutches on the belly pan, seems to be Ok. Will find out this weekend as we're heading north or an 800 miler and needed more room in my bag

    Clutching on the cheap

Could I get away with putting the smallest .85g aluminum rivet in the middle or am I asking for trouble? I won't have time to order heavier aftermarket ones before my big haul-we leave Thurs afternoon.

    Clutching on the cheap

Nope, motor is bone stock, just COTC with 144 studs. Have about 1200 miles on now but north from subury for 3 days next weekend, would really like it sorted by then I might have to put stock back in.

    Clutching on the cheap

Sorry boys, I jumped the gun. Just an update-'15 DX stock, 8fp, gwg,3 mm shim, 8dn, helix shimmed. Had 3.6g in tip jtil it was broke then tapping limiter, now 4.5 and STILL tapping limiter. Pulling good. In all fairness our trails here in southern Ontario are hard and fast, so on some of the...

    Clutching on the cheap

Ok fellas, I went from the 3.6 g in the tip to a 4.5 because I was tapping rev limiter on long pulls, now across my field I'm only pulling 8600 (only about 500 ft at best). I thought it was only supposed to pull down rpm's about 200 per gram? Will test a little more tomorrow on the trail. Put my...

Will a 4.5g weight be too much? By the way, I now have 1000 miles on, so I'm thinking I'm pretty much broke in as good as she's gonna get.

    Clutching on the cheap

Ok stingray, I finally got back out on my sled. Before I made adjustments I got another 400 miles on my sled, now it's tapping the rev limiter up top. I took out one shim (now at 3mm) and dialed secondary to 3-3. Just went for a rip, on an icy road pulled 100 mph but still tapping limiter. I...

am I to old for a SR viper

I'm with everyone else here, went from a nytro xtx to a ltx-dx and absolutely love it. But def go with the coil-overs, have ridden them with the floats and not near as plush-im 6'3" and 250, couldn't get suspension soft enough even with it all at lowest settings. But I'm "only" 42....

    Clutching on the cheap

Would a dual angle helix help this? Not a real big deal, like the arm stretching as it is, but just figured if it did it before then its obviously capable of it.

    Clutching on the cheap

TE="stingray719, post: 1209310, member: 15995"]A couple of things, 1. what is your top rpm before and now 2. does the sled run faster in the start to mid range and drop off fast after 80mph? With stock clutching, it was around 88-8900. With COTC its hanging around 9-9100. And yes, seems to...

    Clutching on the cheap

I am running the COTC setup with 4 shims, 8dn and helix shimmed. It ran 96 mph (97 on speedo) with stock clutching and 300 miles on sled, now only runs 90 (91 on speedo) with 900 miles on sled in similar conditions. Is this normal to lose 5-6 mph up top with the COTC?
