Phazer stretch to 136. What else to do/places to order parts?

Now that you mention it, I think I read that same post regarding removing the seal and greasing the bearing. It didn't occur to me at the time that the bearing didn't have a grease fitting of some kind. I remember trying to remove a seal on a bearing a long time ago and ended up destroying it...

Phazer stretch to 136. What else to do/places to order parts?

Sounds like you've got a good plan so far! 1) Hard to say what condition your current bearings are in, but if they're original and now have 3400 miles, I'd probably just replace them. It would be cheap insurance, and a real pain to have to tear things apart again if they failed in the middle...

Reverse gearbox removal / installation procedure ??? 07 phazer gt

I also had this issue when removing mine. I was going to take off the right side plate anyway, so that's how I ended up removing the gearbox. Only later was I able to acquire a manual, and when I saw their technique for removing it with both sideplates still on, I thought "no way!" I did...

    Riser block??

Is this similar to what you're looking for? https://www.denniskirk.com/595126.sku?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cse&gclid=CJHIwIyK-cECFdSTfgodsh8Aug I'm trying to picture what part of your current setup is keeping you from being able to tighten it up all the way. Any chance you can post a...

    Spindle Removal

I am thinking the JRE site mentioned 2008 and newer because the spindle was initially designed for a 2008 Nytro, and happens to fit the Phazer as well. I could be wrong, but that was my impression. I checked out the Yamaha part numbers for the 2007 Phazer spindles (they refer to them as...

    Spindle Removal

Sorry, forgot to address that bent spindle! I'd say it's worth a try if it's free or cheap, but there's also a chance it may crack (where the A-arm mounts) when it's being straightened. If the straightening is successful, at least you'd have a spare if something happens mid-winter. My guess...

    Spindle Removal

Unfortunately I can't say 100% for sure that the Nytro spindles will work, but my understanding is that there are a few minor differences but they would physically fit. From what I read on the JRE site, it also looked like they fit both Phazer and Nytro models. As far as powdercoating the...

    Spindle Removal

I had not seen the JRE spindles until you mentioned them and I did a little research, but they look pretty nice! It looks like they did a lot of experimentation and found something that achieved the steering and handling they were looking for, and they look to be very nicely made. Whether or...

Hidden menu - CO adjustment - fuel trim

Hello, and welcome to the forum! I think you'll find a lot of great information here. Anyway, I'm sure there is a more direct tutorial on this somewhere, but I can't remember where I've seen it, probably in the Phazer service manual. For now though, hopefully this link to another thread will...

    sloppy steering on my phazer

Hello Gary, and welcome to the forum! Looking at the first of the pictures you posted, I can tell you that the lock/jam nut shown has left-hand threads. So if you put a wrench on it while standing where you were when the picture was taken, you'll want to lift up and rotate the wrench towards...

    Cheapest rail extensions, CANADA

You may also want to check out 2 Kool Performance. It looks like they have or can get just about anything, and they're located in Ontario. There are some rail extensions on this page, about 1/4 of the way down: http://2koolperformance.ca/sled_werx/index_suspensions.html

Phazer MTX A-Arm shim HELP (go easy on me)

Well laxdad, it sure is a small world! I'm glad to hear that you were able to make some progress on the widening of the skis. Has your wife ever talked about steering effort on the Phazer? That was another big 'complaint' of mine when I first bought mine. Any time I drove any of my buddie's...

    137 Phazer

Ahhh, good catch Voda! I was just checking out the Snowmobile track fitment guide from the tracks USA website, and all of the 136 and 138 tracks I saw were 2.52 pitch, and all the 137 tracks were 2.86. I suppose if the 137 track was a smokin' deal, it may still be worth it to buy the 2.86...

    Gearing change

My guess is that the extra wrap is a result of nothing more than Yamaha trying to use one chain for as many applications as possible. I bought my 45 tooth gear from Yamaha Sports Plaza a while back, but it may be worth contacting UP bushman on here, as I think he may still have one available...

Phazer MTX A-Arm shim HELP (go easy on me)

First of all, welcome to the site! I'm glad you're enjoying what you find here, there really is a wealth of information available. I have not seen or heard of any "shims" for the A-arms, but I am thinking that your dealer may have been (somewhat indirectly) referring to the round spacers that...

    Gearing change

Well, I can say that it was VERY close to fitting. A few taps with a rubber hammer may have moved things enough for the gears to slide on, but I didn't want to force it. My chain has about 750 miles (about 1200km) on it, so maybe it's not too stretched out yet. I'm thinking that if someone...

    Gearing change

I know I've read about a few people on here using the 17/45 combination, though I can't remember their thoughts/success with it. As for the chain, the 80 does seem to have a lot of excess, but unfortunately not enough to run the 17/45. I am planning on trying the 17/45 combination this season...

    Using my Phazer MTX 2013

Regarding the shocks, is there any way you can find out the weight of each? Personally, I would lean towards the Float as it doesn't have the 'extra' weight of the external spring, but it's hard to say for sure without knowing what each of them weigh. If they are similar in performance and...

    Phazer owners please look!

Interesting picture, but I'd have to say my 2007 MTX is about the same. My shocks are different (probably smaller diameter) so it may look more centered, but overall the shocks are slightly closer to the front of the A-arm.
