Is the new Viper worth a try ?... honest opinions please

True. As along as you are comparing the power of the Zuk to the GTR and the Yammy to the Civic.

    Truth about Fox Floats

I would take a good coil over the stock floats any day. STAIN explained it well. Even if you don't find the need to change psi often, they are really subpar compared to what an EVOL can do for you. I have EVOL X RC2's on my 2 stroke bump banger and they are night and day over stock floats. You...

    2014 ltx se darting.

Shimming works great. Most ski carbide combos on this chassis will wear the front of the carbide more due to the way it sits. Obviously you want to check ski alignment and suspension setup first. Shim the skis and you can run about any ski carbide combo without darting.

oil light would not come off

shutting it off quickly is a good idea but I found that even if it runs long enough after being tipped over that it stops running by itself, putting it on the other side for a few minutes still works well.;)!

Is the new Viper worth a try ?... honest opinions please

Injection oil and burn downs on a cat 9000? You have your models confused. It's a turbo 4-stroke.

Hot starting issues continue after ECM update

I'm curious how many people just keep cranking or give the starter a break and then keep cranking until it fires. I haven't had one hot start issue where just a crack of the throttle didn't get it fired immediately on the next attempt. Seems to me to be a better method than cranking and...

oil light would not come off

:hide: You could have just pulled the secondary off to remove the belt, if you couldn't get it off otherwise. o_O

oil light would not come off

Tip it on the other side for a few minutes and wait. Then start it. It should fire right up and stay running. I've done this several times even after laying on the side for 5-10 minutes. It works well instead of the nonsense of sitting there and starting it over and over until it gets the prime...

    Yamaha responds to my email

Up to what? 60 mph? :drink::p

    Speed Perception....

X2. It might get there in a hurry now but I wouldn't be happy with a turbo, all that $$$ in it and only being able to hit 112 on hard pack.

Regeared RTX LE trip update from Weasel33

I haven't reflashed. I haven't heard enough positives with it to want it. Hot starts have only been occasional and it always fires with a crack of the throttle.

Help with 2015 rtx dx suspension

I can't remember. Too much usually. Get the skid off the ground and loosen it until it's loose enough to rattle and then give it a turn or or two to make sure it's not too lose that the spring retainer could pop out when unloaded. Now ride it and see what you like. Add more preload if needed...

    straightlineperformance header

I have the SPI can on my sled at the moment. Nice piece. Ceramic coated. I like how it sits tight in bottom of the belly pan with the flange around it. Performance wise, RPM's are about the same as the MBRP I ran prior but the mounts and brackets seem to be better quality on the SPI. I'm going...

    Reducing ski pressure

Do each change one at a time so you know what it does and what you like and don't like. I would start with checking the front skid shock preload.

Ulmer quiet can VS D&D quiet can

I've seen others with that muffler and heat issues melting parts along with the heat shield that comes on it. Here are a couple pics that were posted elsewhere. Was this yours? The sad thing is that it's one of the more expensive mufflers out there and nothing fancy about it. $479. Ouch.

    Ecu reflash

On a side note to the reflash, there is a good write up on Dynotech if you're a subscriber, where Jim discusses the the 14' Viper vs 15' dyno results from the last two NY shootouts where he dynos the sleds every year. In 2014 the Cat 7000 fuel curve looked different on the Dyno, leaner in spots...

    MBRP

X2. It's a no brainer that they are replacing these things when they crack at low miles. Anything else would be unacceptable.

    Chain Whine

Your dealer is going by the incorrect info in the owners manual. I don't even like the saying finger "tight". Use your fingers until there is a little resistance and then back off. 1.5 out after going to0 tight can still give you a lot of whine.

Oil pump prime question / best roll over valve ?

If you rolled it on the right, roll it over on the left side and let it sit for a few before you start it. It will then fire right up without the light coming back on and shutting off. Just did it twice this week. Otherwise, you have to pull the breather tube and stick your finger in to block...

    2016 Release Timing

Like this? Lol. :p Don't get excited boys! It's a joke. ;) I guess nothing new for the Viper/7000 unless it's some suspension tweaks and I doubt a more powerful Yamaha motor will appear. If there was I would guess it's in a Cat chassis and is a lower powered engine or factory turbo Viper at...
