Once my high speed idle comes off, it will try to stall. My trick is to make sure the choke is off before the high speed idle comes off and give it a few braaps. Then its fine. Its always been like this. I think the fuel pumps are lazy in the cold or maybe the fuel bowls are not quiet full yet...
My sled came with an OEM cover but it was pretty rotten. It never fit over the handle bars very well. I think the Nytro had a bit more of a riser for the bars.
I like the Yamaha Champ Runner. No idea who makes them for Yamaha.

I would be Leary of running and old track with studs. Especially with big power and speeds. Launching a stud into a heat exchanger would suck but losing control and smoking a tree would suck more.
10,000 kms on my Ripsaw 1 and it was falling apart. I think age was catching up to it. I started losing a long of lugs last season. That was a good sign its days were numbered.
I see there is a cheaper Tread model. Basic model. I was debating on buying one for my sled. Garmin makes great stuff. Aviation products are fantastic.
I just buy an AGM battery and replace it every 3-4 years. I replace it before it gets weak. I ride in the middle of nowhere sometimes and want the sled to start!!! A friend bought a NOCO and found out the hard way they do not work in the cold!!!! It was advertised for use in a snowmobile but...
When I looked at the Catalyst, I just don't see how you can get a 4 stroke in it. AC has the 600 so low and on an angle. Intake and exhaust is on the same side. I just don't see it happening.
I think the ship has sailed for hoping a 4 stroke in the Catalyst. No room to put one in it.
I don’t want a two stroke either. At least for a high mileage trail sled. It won’t last and I don’t want to stink.
I do a large group ride in Manitoba. There is probably 100 sleds or more entered. I come back smelling like two stroke sometimes. My friends Polaris 800 is quiet the smoker on a cold morning. Last winter we all started this ride at -32. Holy SMOKES!!!! lol
It will be a hit. People want light sleds, not heavy tanks. Each year they keep getting heavier and heavier. I still would trade some weight for longer engine life... I think teaming up with Garmin is an excellent idea. It will be way less glitchy than Polaris and Skidoo.
I think my a arms are a bit brighter of a red. I used some Ford touch up paint for my Mustang today. It’s pretty close. Colorado red. I really should pull the a arms are spray them like you.
I'm trying to get some summer maintenance done. I replaced the plastic gauge pod/headlight cover that cracked last winter.
Anyone know the paint code that Yamaha uses for the red A arms? I'm starting to loose some paint I see....
My friend just bought an Ice Cobra 1.6 for his XTX Nytro. The track is sitting in my basement. We are going to swap it out shortly in my garage. It looks awesome. I guess we will see how it wears. I think how you drive your sled plays a huge amount on how long it lasts too.
