My friends and I were talking about that episode. I think the XC 137 with the four stroke is one of the most surprising. Very heavy for what it is and only 90hp or so. XC you would think would be a fairly light low option sled. I wonder what the actual weight of their 4 stroke is.
I was looking...
I have a BOP soft start spring and love it as well. Million times better in deep snow and backing up. The lower engagement keeps the track from trenching. I *may* have lost a bit top end but still worth it. Loading and unloading the sled from trailers and truck box is a million times for safer.
The Viper to me is too heavy for what it is. Renagade or XC is way lighter. The Viper doesn't feel fast with the 1049. If you don't care about the weight, I would just toss some more money in the pot and buy a Sidewinder. I don't understand the point of the Viper. It costs pretty much the same...
Removing the manifold was easy. The bolts that hold the exhaust tight were a pain. The head stripped. In my other picture you can see the easy out I needed to take the bolt out.
One donut was completely gone.
I’m not a huge fan of two strokes myself and that’s why I still ride the old Nytro.
Our last ride we saw a guy on a renagade leaving a warm up shack. He slowly drove off standing and could lift either from ski off the ground by shifting his weight. You can’t do that on my sled. Us three Nytro...
I think the 1049 in the AC sleds have always had starting issues. Many ecu updates. He hasn’t had any luck. It’s not really the dealer then.
1049 in the Nytro fires right up everytime. Two friends with Nytro xtx. -32C. Vroom vroom. No issues at all.
I disagree. 650 pound sleds are just too heavy. It wasn’t that long ago when people made fun of my 540 pound Yamaha. I’m done with heavy sleds. Yes sleds are heavy when they are stuck but a Viper vs a Rengage there is no comparison. That Viper is just too heavy. My sled is a “lightweight” lol...
My friends Dad has one. They are very heavy and not great starting. I think his is 2018. He got it stuck on a trail that blew in. I bet that sled weighed 700 pounds with snow packed up in it. It was no fun getting it unstuck.
I only had dirty carbs when I bought it. The sled was sitting for quiet some time (many years). I have no bog. Great throttle response. I do start it up once every couple of months in the summer. Last year I forgot to start it up during summer and it was a bit of a pain to get started. I think...
My Nytro is quick. No issues keeping up with Polaris 800 or a newer Nytro 1049. Canadian dollar sucks right now but would consider this mod. Its just hard to prove 20hp gain unless it was compared on a legit dyno.
