Check your ECU to see if the last numbers are 01. If the last two numbers on 2007 Phazer are 00 you have the ECU known for bad cold starts (and other issues). There was recall that expired but you can still buy updated ECU on Ebay.
It is more of a fuel regulator problem above 6 pounds of boost. EVO has you remove the stock fuel pressure regulator and add an external one to run 15 pounds of boost.
That's kind of an opinion, hot start and blown starter versus new rails and assumed rods that won't go over 180hp. 2016 has changed starter parts, etc. My point is it is an opinion if 16 is worse than 14...at least it is for me.
I went back in to the Nytro General section and went down memory lane on that model....... First one I thought interesting was guy hitting a bump and frame bends, I too remember the extremely soft Nytro front...and bushings....and exhaust gaskets...and crappy hand warmers....and magnets breaking...
Cold air = more power no question about it. I was next to one and the sensor said 62 degrees on his and 29 degrees on my EVO at the same place same time. Our MPI with under hood intake said 63 degrees in that same test same place same time. Now I didn't say there is a problem, I just pointed out...
Yep I have them. I put them on our Red Viper when we put the MPI turbo on. I put them on with Barn Of Parts softstart spring and 6mm of primary clutch shims and it is perfect for us. I like how easy it is to put the magnets in or out.
