thanks....there is a lot of speed to be gained with gearing, clutching and chassis setup....I wouldntve ran those speeds in trail form

it is a 2018 sidewinder 137" with a fully clipped 1" track, mix of chisels and triggers, and it had tall gearing. The sled was race prepped and not suitable to trail ride that day as it was slammed and chained down and had chassis set up etc......i outran a 1100 turbo by 2 mph with my 20 psi...

I attended a speedrun a few seasons ago with speed trap system 1000 ft on hardpacked snow. I ran 117 with a 300 tune and 122 with the race map. The same 300 tune ran 123 on ice in 1000ft at a NSSR event. I'm guessing a 275 tune would run 113-115 in 1000ft on snow on a trail sled

Is there a better way to vent the engine oil instead of having it build up oil in the intake tract? Maybe to the atmosphere?

Hey guys…I’ve noticed a new “wind”sounding or “pulsing” type noise while cruising coming from my sidewinder. I just changed the top gear so I looked in the chaincase again and the chaincase all looks fine. My track is pretty tight and skid wheels all seem fine. Not sure where else to look….

That looks like an efficient ratio. I’m trying to find a good ratio that works for great top speed since I speed run 1000’ ice often at around 325…..I know I can’t have my cake and eat it too…I ran 22/37 with good results for speed but it was harder on belts on long trai/lake riding days

Ok sounds good. I ran 22/37 last winter with a 84L but want to gear down a bit…lake running and speed runs in 1000’ once in a while using either max20 or race map

Does anyone know if 22/38 gears will fit an 84L chain?

Hey guys. After putting on a few hundred miles last weekend I brought sled into garage to melt out all snow and ice. I found red droplets inside skid and track area. My coolers seemed fine, my antifreeze is green. Could these red droplets be shock oil? I can’t find a leak anywhere.

Hello..I searched about putting tuner skis on an apex and notice you have experience with them on an apex. You had a post years back that you used them with 6” carbide and liked them. Did you use 6” carbide on inside and outside runner? Which carbide? Thanks

I purchased a new set of sma-8jhds. They are stock on 13/14 nytros. Dual keel. Brand new set for $70. I understand they aren’t that great of a ski but I figured they’d be ok on my wife’s sled who puts on maybe 200miles a yr. I’m just looking for any info in what carbide works best for trail...

I just picked up a new set of dual keel tuners sma-8jhds for my wife’s 07 136” attak with 108 studs….couldn’t pass up the deal. What carbides (inside/outside) do you recommend for mostly groomed trail riding? I’m not familiar with these skis
