Smaller Phazer for 2009 >> anyone heard anything?

Nypex??? There was a hint made a while back on the sled blog. Might be something to it??????? :drink:

    road-runners.ca

Pretty neat stuff! I wonder if something could be adapted on them to work as ice scratchers as well? It would be pretty cool to be riding down an icy trail, have the temp light come on and then flip a switch to put scratchers down. Just an idea... As far as the price goes. I think $650...

    2008 IRON DOG

No let down my friend. Quite the opposite, I'm sure everyone here is impressed by your efforts. This is the first time I have paid much attention to the Iron Dog. Found it very interesting and fun to keep track of what's going on. Never thought reading the posts on the Dog Blog could be so...

Whats the Canadian price of the 2009 Nytro XTX??

I'm with ya on the Phazer market share in the late eighties. I think Polaris then took the #1 spot with the Indy 500's and Yammie hasn't been able to get back since. Yup, I'm from S'toon. Martensville actually. I think I have been introduced to Brian at one point. I definately know who he...

Whats the Canadian price of the 2009 Nytro XTX??

I work for a multinational company that has Canadian and US operations. The executive shared some numbers with us that showed cost of sales in Canada to be significantly higher than the US. I'm not in the powersports industry, but I think the comarison for the cost of a sales force would be...

Whats the Canadian price of the 2009 Nytro XTX??

Yamaha Motor Co in Canada and the US are run as separtate companies are they not? If this is the case, then the USD value would not have any affect on the costs and profitability of Yamaha Motor Canada. YMC would be buying product from Yamaha Japan. A comparison to the Yen is more applicable...

Interesting PDF on the 2009 Nytro XTX

If you are on the gas hard enough to be on the tipped back portion of the rails, will your skis still be on the snow?? Only thing I do know is the turbo guys didn't like the tipped rails on the mountain sleds because it made them wheelie too bad. Hopefully they work good on the stock sleds...

    Need some advice on a track/suspension/exhaust set-up

IMO, you shouldn't go more than 1.5 lug height. I have a 2" x 136" on my 700 and it is awsome in soft snow, but not so good on hardpack. You have to be gentle at trail speeds with the flipper. It's real easy to have the have the rear end come loose and try and pass the front. That's with...

    (Season 2007-08)- Yellowknife

What's your thoughts on the track? I see the paddles are folded over quite a bit. I would think you see soft snow on the trails and hard, windblown snow in the open areas. Do you think the big paddles are good compromise for your application? I have a two inch track on my 136 and love it...

    16" x 136" x 1.75" Challenger/Trail track

I noticed there is a used 16 x 136 x 1.25? sitting on the floor at Rec Supply. Must have come off a Renegade. I didn't pay attention to what they were asking for it though. I have 15 x 136 x 2 on my sled. For trails, it's not very good. The lugs bend over and it spins if you aren't really...

Check "CaptJackSparrow" on Snowest. I don't know the guy, but some of the sled's he has built are works of art. I think he is in Sylvan Lake. ;)!

Breathe - the most beautiful snowmobile clip in the world

It is still one of my favorite clips. If I remember right, it is from two winters ago, and was filmed somewhere around Revy. Both the rider and the filmaker are TY members. Who wouldn't want a turbo after watching that!

What are the best( warmest dryest ) riding boots?

Anyone have any experience with these? They caught my eye last year at a trade show. I like the fact that they are totally waterproof, but I am wondering if they will be warm enough?? http://www.muckbootcompany.com/product_info.php?products_id=28 I have Sorels now and they...

    What Tek-Vest is the Best?

I don't buy it. Plastic and foam or whatever is in them doesn't degrade after a couple of years hanging in a closet 90% of the time. Race sanctioning bodies have deals set up with manufacturers. They get kickbacks from the manufacturers and in turn they make rules saying you have to upgrade...

    Rail Extensions/full length hyfax issues

I have my 700SX extended to 136" and use 121" hyfax and I see no reason for longer ones. As a side note, my hyfax wear is by far the most right under the rubber bumpstop. I was thinking of adding a set of wheels there as it is wearing twice as much at that point. I am running a 2" track, VERY...

Nytro MTX on groomed trails? Anyone have similar experience?

I think hyfax will be an issue. Yammies are bad on hyfax to begin with. I run a 136" x 2" and when I ran the groomed trails this year my hyfax took a beating. And yes, I have scratchers. Also, the deep lug tracks suck on groomed trail. On hardpack, the tall lugs bend over and you get a...

    DOO XP Verse Nitro RTX

F1 is around the 20,000 RPM value. They use a pneumantic system for valve control. The running a four stroke in reverse thing was briefly discussed around here once before. I don't remeber the specifics, but a certain Yamaha peep made a comment that it didn't work very well. Lead me to...

    DOO XP Verse Nitro RTX

One of the new Doo XP's was sitting in front of the dealership today. I had to stop in and take a closer look. WOW. Major weight reduction program. It was much more compact than the REV sitting beside of it. It doesn't LOOK very beefy. Lots of light guage metal. Webbing in a few places...

cooling system on this sled is interesting....

Notice the difference in cooling between the shorties and mountain sleds? Looks like NO front exchanger on the mountain. Seems that they added a tube up in the tunnel instead?? I'm thinking that is how they allow for the deep lug track clearance while still using the short track parts...
