    2021 Venture - Loose Mirrors

Get yourself an extra large motorcycle dust cover, to use in your garage and overnight stays at hotels. Keep that thick heavy duty cover for trailering only. You'll have to fold in your mirrors for the heavy cover, there are no tricks.

New 2021 Venture - Starting Question

The reason for getting a fuel injected is so you don't have to play with it to keep it running when it's cold! Something needs attention. My sled only does this when transferring it from my barn to my toy shed, just before the snow flies. It was parked for 8 months, and never started. Always...

    RX1 motor swap into RS

Not worth the time, effort, money, and hassle, in MHO Re + re would be the easiest

    Exhaust flex pipe.

If you decide to install the FX Garage flex pipes, don't bother using the bolts that come with them. As we all know, everything is made in China these days, and their bolts are crap! Rumour is that the bolts can come loose, so I was making them extremely tight, which results in breaking bolts! I...

    Exhaust flex pipe.

My 2012 RS Venture GT has almost 27000 km on it, and I just put on the FX garage flex pipes this summer. I had 2 of the Yamaha flex pipes broken in there, with the copper donuts. History of my exhaust, replaced fiber donuts, twice, then 3 into 1 pipe broke in half, had all Yamaha welds...

    Venture timeline?

Almost 27 000 km on my 2012 Venture GT. Besides the exhaust donuts, it's been a great sled. I will not buy another Yamaha that has this exhaust system as it is such a nuisance!!!! Your rear suspension, lift the sled off the ground. Release pressure on the front coil over shock until the spring...

    Broken piece- What is this?

Looks like a "bottom out stopper", or whatever it's called, from your rear suspension rail. Take a good look everywhere to see what it matches? Don't worry about getting your sled off the trailer. If the sled was as fragile as lots of people on this site think they are, THEY WOULD ALWAYS BE IN...

    Snowtracker for '09 RS Venture

Phone Royal Distributing, or go on their website, to find your sled, and SnowTrackers. Their website is pretty crappy though. https://www.royaldistributing.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=snowtracker%20steering%20stabilizer%20extreme

    Exhaust donut elimination!

Anyone else sick of fixing Yamaha exhaust donuts? Did they hire a kindergarten designer to design the P.O.S. exhaust and repair procedure? Anyone install the following donut elimination parts? Do you like them? How are they holding up? Maybe Yamaha should adopt this system, as I won't buy...

Should I sell my 11 rs venture gt?

I had about 3000 kms as well, which for me is a crappy season. Our (Osgoode Club) trails were officially open for 3-4 weeks, that's it. So, I was trespassing lots, to get to groomed trails. I don't truck them, because the trail goes through my property. So many snowmobiles leaving the trail, and...

Should I sell my 11 rs venture gt?

Find a new wife, keep the sled, then pray to the snow gods, like we all have to these days! Crappy winter in Ontario too, for the 3rd year in a row.

FAQ: How To - DriveShaft/JackShaft bearing"REGREASE" Step by step

I've been doing this on all my snowmobiles, every spring, for over 30 years. It's saved me thousands in new bearings.

One side of track keeps coming loose.

The rear axle bolt isn't meant to hold your track aligned or tensioned. Your tensioners are meant to hold the track aligned and tensioned. Adjust your tensioners properly. The rear axle bolt is designed to hold all your wheels, spacers, etc etc together and tight against each other.

Problems with belt smoking and sled feeling like brakes are on...2011 Vector

After 6 brand new Polaris sleds over the years, and 5 blown engines, (and lots of other issues, including a partially broken chain in the chaincase), I switched to Yamaha. My first one was a 2001 700 triple 2 stroke, no issues after 16000 km. 2nd was a 2008 RS Venture. Engine went under...

Snowtrackers or Studboy Deuce Bars or Woodys Slim Jims or ?

After 35 years of 3000-5000 km a year of snowmobiling experience, Snow Trackers are the way to go. I've tried EVERYTHING to eliminate darting, without success, until these! You have to align your skis with zero toe in/out! Someone mentioned tying your skis together with a bungy cord to align...

Yamaha RS Venture 2008 - Driveshaft / Speedometer Bearing Replacement

Yamaha RS Venture 2008 - Driveshaft / Speedometer Bearing Replacement

Wait until you have to change the bearing behind your secondary clutch! What a treat that was! I had a 2008, where the engine failed under warranty, and was failing again when I traded it, but anyway, I noticed this bearing was failing because I could move the secondary clutch up and down a few...

    Rotor play and shims

I changed my track last winter, it had 24000 km on it. I just checked my side movement, and I have about 1 mm of side play. I don't remember there being 3 spacers in there. I personally wouldn't worry about it, as the calipers and pads will just keep everything aligned anyway. It would be...

2013 Vector loss of power steering

Even before power steering, I drove with "SnoTrackers". They are awesome! I've been using them for years, absolutely no darting when you have the skis adjusted perfectly straight. Two of my brothers moved from Yamaha to Arctic Cat, partially due to the crappy Yamaha dealer we have. They now...

2013 Vector loss of power steering

My 2012 RS Venture GT power steering doesn't work if the sled is left outside, overnight, on real cold nights. The sled is always covered at night, if stored outside. It's always stored indoors at home. It has always worked if I leave from my garage at home. Once you start driving it, it warms...
