2 Fog or Not 2 Fog - That is the Question

I have started my '06 Attak about once a month and ran it until it was good and hot and spun the track a bit. Never had a single problem come riding season. I've never had to change a plug or had a problem starting. This year however, I didn't start it at all and come fall I noticed my...

I never thought id say it but xf1100 turbo

It does look pretty sharp but what is up with those A-arms? They look like they're 2 feet apart.

    What is causing this?

Mine was doing a similar thing but also wallered out the rivet holes and I lost one. When I replaced it I used a machine screw with loctite and a bigger washer. It's held on fine since then.

    After years of Lurking....

Let me know what you think about the differences in you CF vs. the Attak. I've got the exact same Attak and am thinking about selling it to get a CF 800. I love my sled but it just can't do what I need it to do. We don't have groomed trail systems here in Fairbanks so I need a true crossover...

What is the biggest track that will fit on a 07 attak???

1.5" with no mods. 1.75" and bigger and you'll have to remove tunnel protectors, notch the track, or go with smaller drivers.

    Looking at a 2006 Attak

I have an '06 Attak with 3K miles and almost all of the before mentioned problems and I will say they are very trivial compared to blowing a set of rings or spinning a crank bearing out on the trail. The only mods I've done is 8" Bergstrom Tiple Points and a Cobra track. The only time my Attak...

    chain case removal

When you're ready to remove the guts thake the gear sets out whole and run a zip-tie or wire through them as you take them off. This will save alot of headache trying to remember what order they were in.

    Sly Dog Wheel Concerns?

I've got about 2500 miles on mine (just the two inner ones) without a single problem. I re-grease the bearings every fall and the only thing to happen so far is a few rock dings.

    Bergstrom Carbides

They will fit right on to your stock ski. I Put 8" triple points w/ski shims on my stock Attak skis and the difference was night and day. That was over 3 years ago and they still look great.

Track swap, 06 apex, anyone have a how too or advice?

When I take my chaincase apart I use zip-ties to slide through the gear sets as I take them off. No chance of getting them out of order then.

    clutching

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you won't have to worry too much about the clutching, you'll be too busy digging. The 2" paddle will help but it just doesn't do the trick. These things are a tank in the deep stuff. If it's really crusty you'll do better, just stay in someone else's track if...

    Wire..visor..this might work.???????

There's a fuse panel right below the key switch that I would go to first. It's pretty easy to tap into the bottom of it.

Thinking of cobra track over ripsaw

I replaced the Ripsaw on my Attak with the Cobra and have been very happy. Don't get your hopes up on this track making the Attak a good off trail sled because it isn't and anything short of a 151" won't make it that way. It will keep great trail manners with a little better bite off trail.

    Need GAS

I've never seen another for the Apex. You could get the exhaust turn outs and put a can on the back if you don't find what you're looking for.

    Anyone still riding????????????

The Tanana is in great shape from the Chena Pump boat launch headed south. I went about 1/2 way to Nenana on Thurs. and it was great. Snow's a little low but the Iron Dog trail is in real good shape. There's a couple pics on this thread. http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=87659...

    1.25" ripsaw track useless

The 1.5" should clear the tunnel protectors. 1.75" is where they start to rub.

    Transfer Rod Stabbing Track

After my transfer rod broke I rode without it for a couple weeks and ended up having to get another rail tip. I used a machine screw and nut w/loctite to attach. Been good so far. I think without the transfer rod the suspension moves to a position it wasn't designed for which rubs on the tips.

    Oil Filter every 12000 miles?

I asked my dealer the same question and he said it was because of it barely being used. Somewhere right after clutch engagement the filter gets by-passed because of flow restrictions. As in the previous posts, anything from the air/environment that might get in there will be little enoug that...

I wish my apex had carbs

My fuel pump relay acted up on me like that the first winter, until I got a new one (under warranty). Haven't had a problem since. Have you tried new ones yet?

2007 Apex GT rear shock popped!

Hey Irondog, You're kind of right about nobody rebuilding the mono's up here. No buisnesses will do it, but, Doug at Northern Power Sports will rebuild the them on his own if you need one done. He did a great job on one of mine.
