I don't have the $269 Yamaha special tool for testing spark gap. I am using a test light. I clamped the ground lead to the chassis. On cylinder 1 the spark jumps out of the coil pack a little, cylinder 2 I have to place the probe inside to get it to jump. I have tested the crank sensor and it...
I have a Phazer that I supercharged (MPI). I can't get fire or fuel. I am beginning to think the GEMS controller has gone bad.
1. Has anyone else had this issue?
2. Can I switch from GEMS to Power Commander?
3. How much of a pain is it to switch it over and get it mapped?
The engine turns over bit it does not start. I have changed the plugs. I have even used starting fluid. No joy. I pulled the plugs back out and they are dry. I put a screwdriver into the coil pack and watched it arc.
I finally got around to getting the Phazer in the garage. Charged the battery put the key in tried to start it and nothing. I am getting no lights or anything. I am leaning towards the 40 Amp main fuse. I have voltage at the switch. I have yet to be able to ID the fuse. According to the parts...
I have a MPI supercharger on my Phazer MTX. I have two issues. My 02 sensor in not reporting to my guage. No idea what my fuel ratio is. I have tuned it in the blind so to speak. Running it rich. Issue 2, after I have been ridingf for a while it starts to backfire. I believ it is my GEMS...
I never get a air fuel ratio reading. The logger flashes ready but never gives a reading. I am not sure if it is the O2 sensor or the logger. Any ideas wold be appreciated.
I took my machine out today to test ride it. I have to get the clutch set up. The place I droped it off with failed to get any work done on it, so I picked it up to what outher issues I have. 1. Clutch issue, hittin rev limiter at about half throttle. Fuel issue, at about 20 mph it is loading...
Does anyone have trouble starting a supercharged machine at cold temps. I am running 110 Octane. It was 30 belwo when I got it to town. My machine had only cold soaked for about a hour and it would not start. Is that normal? Any cure for hard starting?
You can use a brake bleeder hand pump. Disconnec the oil return line from the tank and connect the hand pump to the return line. It takes a bit of pumping. This way you don't have a dry start. I don't know why this is not in the service manual.
I just finished installing my MPI Supercharger, primed the oil pump and supercharger oil system. It started and ran for a bit then once it idled down it would quit. It did that for a few mor time and now it will not start.
I am thinking I need to check the wiring. I plan to start witrh the...
I installed 4 position spring adjusters. I can sit on the end of the tunnel and I get less than a inch drop. I also have the shock in the stiffest position.
I am close to being finished with my supercharger install. The instructions say the GEMS should not be exposed to snow and water. I need some ideas on where to place then. There is no room on the Phazer :o| . I am thinking about mounting two 1010 Pelican cases on the handle bars and put on in...
1. When you get ready to pull the waterpump, disconnect the steering and remove the front subframe. (10 bolts) Trust me it makes things mutch easier.
2. When you installing to oil tank for the super charger on the clutch side. Remove the 4 bolts hobling the footrest, this will give you...
When installing a MPI supercharger remove fron subframe the 10 bolts and slid subframe froward 2 inches. This makes it possible to remove the waterpump. This is not in the instructions. With some special toos and very small hands you may be able to accomplish this but I have my doubts.
I got bored :die and decided to polish my slide rails since I had installed aulminum wheels. The problem is I did too good of a job on the first part. Now I have to polish everything so none of it looks like crap. It is way too late in the season to be in the middle of this project. I still...
I will be calling about this tomorrow.

It is a Nytro add but I can't see why one for a phazer would be any different.
After going back and looking at the full add link, this is a deal on new machines (option). I did hear that the local dealer...
