    Chest protectors

Would an MX style chest protector (like the Fox Airframe) provide adequate protection for sledding? I've tried a tekvest but found it too bulky and uncomfortable. Looking for something lighter but with decent protection.

2010 Vector - What do you guys think?

Overall I really like what they've done with the new vector ... especially the motor but there's no way I could afford one at $15K for an ltx and $14.7K for a short track. And why no base versions of these?

RS Venture and 10 foot trailer

Will it fit in a 10 footer enclosed? If not straight in, what about with the back end moved over? Anyone have any experience?

    TORS Question

Was running down a nice section of trail yesterday for about 5 kms at a steady throttle doing 80-90 km/hr when all of a sudden the engine started cutting out and the engine light came on with the 84 code. It back fired once or twice so I shut it off and re-started it and it ran fine. No more...

    Drivehaft Bearing Pic and Question

Changed this out over the weekend (clutch side). In this condition, would you have cleaned it out, re-packed it and continued using it or just replaced it. It still seemed to roll well with no binding. The were a few rust spots on some of the "rollers" and a bit of water. Just trying to get a...

    Changing Driveshaft Bearing

Changing my driveshaft bearing (clutch side) over the weekend just as some preventative maintenance. I have 5200 kms on it so it's probably time before it lets go. One question I have is, does the bearing just slide off of the shaft (once the set screws are removed)? With the shaft being...

    Trailering question

Guys with double trailers hauling one sled, do you put the sled in the middle or load it on one side? Is it any harder on the trailer if you are hauling one sled loaded on one side? Thanks.

    Coolant overflow tank

Is anyone having problems with keeping coolant in the overflow tank? If I top the level up to the cold line (when the engine is cold) it all comes out the over flow line once the engine is warmed up (usually after a few kms down the trail) until there is barely any in the over flow. Afterward...

    This sucks! Early x-mas gift

Someone stole my sled trailer last night right out of my parent's yard. It's a 2006 triton enclosed 10 footer. I bought it two months ago and the sleds didn't even make it into it and now it's gone. I am very pi$$ed! Right before the season starts and I'm back to square zero. After a few years...

Seafoam - how much do I add?

Taking the sleds out of summer storage tomorrow and I picked up some seafoam to add to the gas to help clean out the carbs. I ran fuel stabilizer through them in the spring then drained the carbs but I'm adding seafoam just to make sure everything is clear. On the can it says treats 30-95...

Can't keep coolant in reservoir tank

When the sled gets warm it keeps pushing coolant out through the over flow hose until there is no coolant left in the reservoir when the motor cools off. So when I check my coolant when the sled is cold, ther reservoir is completely empty. You can just see a little coolant in the bottom of the...

Dropped the Floats Pressure - Shocked at Difference

I dropped the floats pressure on my nytro to 50 psi to drop the a-arms to parallel with the ground. I was simply shocked and amazed at how well my sled corners now. I've been battling inside ski lift for almost two seasons now and was skepitcal about dropping the floats pressure due to how low...

Proactive CK Skid - softening ride question

If I loosen the front center spring I know it will take weight off of the front skis but is this it's only purpose (pitching weight on or off the skis)? Will loosening it soften the ride? I'm 160 lbs with gear and the rear springs are on soft and when I get on the sled the supsension doens't...

Can't get this thing softened up!

I realize that the Nytros are stiffly sprung for rough trails but man, mine rides way too stiff! Between the really hard seat and the stiff suspension, my tail bone is not happy. I weigh about 160 lbs with gear and I can't even compress the suspension when getting on the sled. I have the...

    2008 Vector

Any of you with the 2008 vectors, is the seat really hard? My 07 Nytro has a really hard seat ... it's so hard that I have a sore tail bone after any mileage on rough trails. Just wondering whether all Yami rider forward seats are really hard? BTW, I'm only about 160 lbs with gear and I hardly...
