yes, I believe the lighter battery is only in the non ER RX-1. Although, I have no idea why they would only make this change on the regular RX.

advertised difference is 6 pounds for 04s and 14 lbs for 05s. Per the dealer, part of the reason for the larger difference in 05 is that the ERs do not get the magnesium case cover that the non ER gets in 05.

They should be very close to the same weight if 05 RX has lost 30 pounds and Vector is indeed close to viper er.

'04 dry weights (per Yamaha) - RX-1 553 pounds, RX-1 ER 559 pounds, '05 dry weights RX-1 523 pounds, RX-1ER 537 pounds, more of a difference in '05 in part because '05 ER does not get the magnesium chain case cover- this "improved" part is only for the regular RX-1.
