I'm not sure of any mass-produced inserts but I made a template and bought some "Gravel Guard" trailer fender protective vinyl w/adhesive backing and cut it out and put it on-looks great and has held up well, at least I think it still has held up. I had 2k miles on the sled when I sold it...

Don't have any pics, but the Skinz handguards are flexible and will not be an issue if they come in contact with the windshield.
