Hey crk1333, I see your from TC. Did you know Classic Motor sports is your new Yamaha dealer in town?? They bought Daves Yamaha inventory over the summer in Cadillac. They should be able to switch over your shock under warranty before the snow flies. Good luck

100% percent agree evil eagle. Since i have a 15 apex also, night and difference in ride between the two. The 15 is a much better ride.

Those with the 16 apex should have it done through warranty and not have to fork out the 499. My 16 apex was covered under warranty just like the 17 apex is. For those that may have paid for this shock, I would demand my money back or dispute it hard.

Porta parts---Why should I owner of a 16 apex have to fork out 499 dollars when my buddy who has a 17 apex gets his shock upgrade for free? That is not fair or a great deal/offer from Yamaha. Should treat everbody equally and fairly.

I am a good customer with the dealer, he has called and put a warranty claim in for my 16 apex. Will see what they say in a couple of days.

I called and my dealer called and they said in the states its only for the 2017 apex. I know the skids are the same for the 16 and 17 but no one wants to help. What do I do next?? Keep calling customer service at yamaha???

My buddy just texted me and said the chaincase is making noise . It goes into forward and reverse and when he takes off the chaincase is making noise. Will load back up on trailer and take into dealer in the am. Will update when dealer fixes this. Thanks for all input.

He said it felt like he blew a belt, belt was fine. He could turn the secondary by hand with belt on. It could be the chain broke or a gear. We were on the trail going about 60 mph. Good snow conditions
