Hehe, steering wasn't the problem. It was picking my, umm, hind quarters, up and swapping cheeks on seat with every turn that took the toll. If they put that seat on a hinge though :) (cue modifiers).

Putting the phazer up for sale, great sled, set up just how I liked it. But my joints are a bit creakier and crawling all over the sled through the twisties has me wishing for a sled that doesn't require quite so much body english.
I would like to thank everyone here for the great help and the...
Well I ended up getting this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00029KC2A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I cut it with heavy duty scissors to slide under the retaining clips on all 4 sides and managed to work it into place after removing the film from the adhesive backing...
So I am puzzling over something with regards to the orientation of the rubber grommet in this kit.
My understand and common sense says that if the ski's are off the ground, the tips should go up somewhat.
However with the grommet installed as described here...
Hello. Pulled off the exhaust to check the clamps and donuts and noticed that the coating on the underside of the heat shield cover is gone (parts of it laying below). Given the location (right under the gas tank), I investigated the cost of replacement. ~$100 ouch. Is there an...
When you turn the key from off to on (but not yet to start) do you hear the buzz/rattle of the fuel pump?
Listen for this after it has been sitting (turned off) for a bit to allow the fuel pressure to bleed off.
If no fuel pump noise it is probably the fuel pump relay is frozen, pull it...
Variation on the old saw:
Pick any 2
- Low Price
- Light Weight
- Reliable
- high performance.
Unfortunately, the tech required to have a performance competitive sled in todays market has reached a minimum cost level which is higher than many can afford.
How would yamaha do...
Yes, thanks Cubby, I searched port yamaha, but didn't find it there. However, now I go back and search for "Cam Buckle" and there it is.
Thanks for the cue.
And the part number is: SMA-LUGGE-HW-KT for the earlier ones with 1" straps.
The 1.5" straps have the following part number...
Hi Folks, I have one of the yamaha saddle bags on my 2007 phazer. The saddle bags are anchored to the sled with nylon strapping that loops around the bumper in the rear and another set of straps on the front that go to pop-riveted cam locks on the tunnel. I broke one of the cam locks. Does...
Hope you can get this out soon... moving out of the wrenching months and into the riding months. If I can't get this in my hands by EOY, I'll probably postpone until next year.
Mike
It would be nice if Michigan had an option for a less expensive shorter term trail pass.
I'm from Minneapolis area and for my yearly family trip with 4 sleds I choose between the black hills and the keweenaw area.
And two factors have sent me to the black hills last year and this year...
My solution will likely not apply to you but I installed an exhaust turnout and then mounted a 2 gallon on the back. However my tunnel is somewhat extended to allow for the 136 track.
I tend to be all over the sled when riding as the Phazer really seems to appreciate some body english in the...
Response from Shorai
Had similar questions so asked them. I'm not too encouraged by their reply.
Hi Mike,
Â
We have very little experience with snowmobiles at this time. The best suggestion is to go oversize on the battery capacity. If your sled is 500cc 4 stroke twin the LX18...
Just make sure to get the rope the heck out of the vicinity after each pull... Would get scary if the rope decided to rewind itself on the clutch after it started...
:)
Mike
There is up to 8 relays hiding behind that battery (depending on which version you have).
The top row is the most interesting with starting from rear of the sled to the front:
Relay 10: Headlight
Relay 11: Load control (shuts off electrical thing until engine running)
Relay 12: Fuel...
