You're not wrong but I think the discussion is about gyroscopic effect and how it might be mitigated by the apex engine spinning opposite the drive line.
I fully support apex engines regardless of any benefit in handling. They just sound awesome.
The sidewinder had 7 hp less. Both are preproduction units so don't worry about it too much now, that difference is easily made up with clutching or rider weight.
Foil tape works well for this. Apply release agent to it then lay down fiberglass, pop the fiberglass and that's your female mold for the carbon fiber.
You'll need more sound reduction than a similar turbo sled because the turbine helps to muffle the noise slightly. I don't know of anyone who has trouble from heat with a tunnel dump.
2500 if you don't get a spring order LE. Still need gauges and clutching plus install. So 16k out the door to compete with a 50-100lb lighter 12k sled.
Yamaha can easily build a NA 180 hp motor that'll run forever. Do it and get rid of the fourth place is fine mentality.
The powerhouse chassis as Caleb said uses 7t drivers with a 3" track and has 7/8" clearance to the bulkhead and maybe just over 3/8" to the jackshaft. The approach angle is about 15 degrees compared to 21-22 of an xm or pro.
Im running the same clutching as last year when I didn't have the bog. Do you think the clutching is wrong or there is something worn out, a weight sticking, etc?
It's the impulse race kit with a 3071, water to air intercooler, boost it fuel controller, built motor. It does it at every boost level from 13lbs to 20. It goes lean suddenly, the AFR is in the low tens at wide open until it bogs.
My apex runs well all the way through the power band and at full throttle, but after a few seconds at full throttle it falls flat on its face. The AFR reads lean when this happens but it could just be unburned fuel from the motor stalling.
It has new plugs gapped at .018.
Any suggestions...
