    HID kit install questions

Here's a stock glare bracket vs modified. These are the same bulbs I think when I took the pictures of the unmodifed (left side) the bulbs weren't fully warmed up. They are 6000k and when fully warmed up are have a blue tint.

    HID kit install questions

High beams then Low / Hi with HID's. Then some pics of my brackets I fabricated.. .57 cents a piece at lowes in the lumber department, cut about 3/4 inch off both and drilled out mounting hole. Used double sided sticky tape that came with HID's and then zip ties to keep in place just in...

    HID kit install questions

Just went for it and glad I did. Here are before and after shots. Sorry the sled is on my trailer in the garage so the light patern is skewed a bit from the bars on the front ramps.

    HID kit install questions

I went ahead and messed around with some different options. I took off the caps and it definitly helped put out more low beam light. The majority of the light is at the bottom of the cut off so this is good light, not high blidning light that will impare oncoming riders. I'm debating cutting...

    HID kit install questions

I just installed a 6000k bi-xenon HID kit today in my 08' MTX. I've almost got it wrapped up but I had a couple quick questions about the final install. 1. Anyone able to use the rubber boots that go around the stock H4 bulbs with the HID bulbs? If not do I just leave them off the sled...

    Dooly's vs Slim Jim's

SteelerJim, did you shim your skis too? Wondering if that will eliminate the push effect? I bought the carbides.. hard to pass up $80 w/ free shipping. Basically buy one get one free!

    Dooly's vs Slim Jim's

I had Doolys on my RX1 and it completely eliminated the darting problems with that sled. The downside was they caused a lot of drag in the snow. Didn't notice it at speed but when taking off on ice or especialy crossing pavement or riding in late spring on dirt and gravel it was aweful. The...

    Simmons genII skis opinion

Ya I read around in some other forums after posting this and they dont seem to be very good for my style riding. Some guys cut part of the fin off the rear of the ski to help get it on edge but I dont want to hack stuff up to make it work.

    Simmons genII skis opinion

I was looking at a set of used Gen II skis I can get for pretty cheap. Tow questions though. 1. I like to sidehill because of the width of the ski (10" inch) and the extended outer edge is this ski difficult to sidehill with? 2. It has skidoo mounts for 08-newer sleds. I know we can swap...

    narrowing ski stance

I'm trying to cure darting issues on my 08' MTX I'm in the process of pulling my skis and shimming them. I noticed it looks like I can reinstall them with a narrower skis stnace which I would really like for side hilling. Anyone done this and what kind of results have you seen? Will this...

Which bag went on my MTX?

Yup, hooks on both sides. The muffler has the 90 degree turn out as well as the diamond plate to deflect the heat. Thanks, thought I would try to see if anyone recognized this setup, oh well.

Which bag went on my MTX?

I picked up this sled at auction so I was never able to talk to the owner. I think the diamond plate was fabricated but the mounting tabs for the tail bag look official. Anyone have any idea which bag might have been mounted here?

First impressions (first ride on my new 08' MTX)

Thanks for the suggestions and like I mentioned I have read around. Before I ever rode the sled while it was just hanging out in the garage waiting for snow I was deep in the forums reading about all the handling issues. The reality of it is that we are all trail riders to some extent. You...

First impressions (first ride on my new 08' MTX)

Just to clarify I'm not a trail rider. Backcountry big mountain rider which is why I jumped to the Nytro with the turbo prospect on the horizon. This biggest issue is for me in fact though the trail handling. My buddies and I hit the ground running. We're those jack asses that fly by doing a...

First impressions (first ride on my new 08' MTX)

Today I finally got to ride my 08' Nytro I picked up in November. I did a mix of trail and hill climbs with a lot of off camber riding and side hilling. Here's some impressions. Sled is completely 100% bone stock. Negative 1. Handles like a mack truck, steering is really hard and...
