It seems to work good, but am open to suggestions? Thought about a shockwave helix? Do they help? Am having trouble with it ideling when cold starting it. After a few minutes of holding the throttle lever barely open it idels and runs fine.
To tell the truth I haven't changed it since I bought it with 1000 miles on it. Set up by Cooke City Yamaha in 2008. Front has supertips in it/not sure what spring. Rear has stock apex helix/not sure of spring. Should I change?
Having trouble starting my apex when cold. Have to hold the throttle open just slightly or it dies. Acts like it is flooded if open throttle all the way. After holding it like this a few minutes it will idle on its own. When warmed up starts and runs fine.
Going with a TEAM chain. Should I try a Dayco Ultamax belt, or is the stock one better? Just want the best belt on it I can get so this doesn't happen at the wrong time.
Sled has 1600 miles on it. I got it with 1100, so don't know how many on the belt. Guess I will put a new one on every 500 miles from now on. Chain would be the next thing to change every 1000 miles I guess. It doesn't look like the reverse should hurt the strength of the sled that I can...
Took my 2008 MCX 174 out this weekend and blew a belt apart the first day, and broke the chain in two the next day. They both happened luckly in deep snow pulling hard, but didn't crash. I probably should have checked or changed the belt, haven't since I bought it, but to the chain case. It...
Bought a 08 Apex with a 174 track on it with just an extension kit. Wondering if there is a tunnel extension I can buy, or do I have to just make one? Next question is if a new tunnel is worth the money and what would it cost?
My neighbor has a slick setup. He ran a piece of aluminum angle across the top of the intercooler and let it hang out a inch or so and then drilled a couple of holes in it. He then connected it to the headlight bracket with some exhaust springs. Looks really good and can still flex just a...
Has anyone had any trouble with the brake sticking on their Apex?? I would climb a couple times and it would be hard as a rock and stuck on. I could cool it down with snow and then it would release. Think it might be the caliper sticking??
Just like the others said (Ken & SRXrule). I would rather ride my apex stock for handling than my turbo rx1. The sled is great to sidehill. Just can't wait to boost it. It should be an awsome machine for big shoots!! Buy it and don't listen to your buddies!!
Is that a yosh pipe? Looks like it would sound good. I thought that I would be different and try this untill I get the turbo on it. I think that the sled runs better because the stock fuel mapping is probably rich for warranty reasons.
