m.shuey.....here's a link to my build below, it has sit for the 2 years in back of garage at old house and a year in the new shop due to life just being too busy. it hit the snow for about 3kms end of last winter and will get a little bit of riding this winter but, not too much due to being...
have my 09 xtx working amazing on trails.... it has quite a bit of things done to it, for handling skinz a-arm kit, oft steering relocate, fox float evol x shocks with high & low speed compression and rbound adjustments, 7" mountain skiis with snowtrackers (semi-agressive) on the fron end...
m.schuey.... i have a quick question, are you running the 1.5" crossover track studded? I am changing the track on mine shortly (22,000km on the stock ripsaw) and would like to run 1.5" studded or maybe the 1.6" ice cobra.
thanks
Devil.... I tossed Timbersled mountain tamer into mine with the stock rails, does not get much lighter than that when done with fox air shocks. It is a trail sled set-up and plenty tough, it has taken some abuse.
yep....that happens, must of hit something.....if your sub-frame doesn't bend then something else will in that situation (a-arm) and it is easier to ride home with a bent sub-frame than a broken or bent a-arm. unique repair method....
stock skis with snow trackers (I prefer the semi-aggressive, tried aggressive....same for turning just a bit harder to turn). look into setting up your front end, a arms should be almost parallel to the ground.... a few really good posts here regarding front end set up.
there are spacers between the spindles and skis, as the openings are pretty huge. when doing this setup i spent almost on hardware as it cost for the take off skis. the wide saddle openind does allow for quite a bit of adjustment in width as a result. i can take some pictures in the morning for...
my xtx used to ice over all the time i moved it towards front of seat closer to exhaust and it is better there but, i think that's where where the short track is mounted.
only change was 0"/mm toe in as per the kit....i have done alot of suspension stuff to it over the years, it is pretty spot on now. i have a couple of things i might do this summer though
yes i run this set up, and run stock skis with ski skins over top with snow trackers on wife's vector (7 1/2") heavier set up (its 4 stroke...doesn't make a difference) aand saves money on new hardware for mounting skis
OFT works very well have 20,000kms on mine and still works perfect & no slop, it also had the additional benefit for me of creating additional space allowing a rad relocate kit to deal with the reduced space behind radiator, when installed my oversized trailtank and also added MP vented dash to...
it will also lighten steering a little bit.... i have run shims on mine with semi aggressive snowtrackers for 6+ years on my nytro and wife's vector and it works really good (works for me......)
cheers
