    Spark plugs changed 1000 miles ago. Will have mechanic check spark plugs and wires and I will check out putting balls in exhaust to see if engine shuts down.

    Tried sea foam. Did not help. I will have dealer adjust valves on Wednesday. Mechanic is pretty sharp, has worked on Yamaha's for 15 years. I will post the results of valve adjustment Wednesday evening.

    Called dealer. Probably has sticking valve and valves out of adjustment. I will have valve train adjusted before I blow out muffler.

    Apex will not start

    Good idea. I will do that when I install the new solenoid when it arrives in three days. There was a lot of corrosion on the connector plug to the solenoid which made it hard to separate from the defective solenoid.
