I have milky chain case oil every year when I change it. Not sure how the water would get in there is there a breather tube or plug that might be missing.
This is on a 2009 venture lite. Doesn't leak chain case oil.
I have had these one the sled since New Year's but finally got to put some miles on them this weekend. I absolutely love them! No darting to speak of and steering is quite responsive and feels more precise.
I went with these: https://snowstuds.com/product/double-down-runners-89-series/?attribute_length=6+inches
The owner said they will bolt on Sly Dogs. According to him they don't have the exaggerated point on the front like the picture shows. We shall see.
How do you know from the site https://snowstuds.com/product-category/runners/ which one(s) have the C&A bolt patern? Do you have to drill a hole in the bottom of the ski to accomodate that extra peak at the front of the runner?
Please do take some pictures when you get a chance. How do you match up the pattern of where the hole needs to go for the turned up tip in order to drill the hole in the ski? Might be worth a try, but yikes I don't know if I like the idea of drilling into my $$$$ Sly Dogs.
So, I'm digging my old post out of the closet. I just rode for a few years with the setup I had and dealt with the darting. Ready to spend the money and try to eliminate some of the darting now since my carbides are worn. I'm confused about Studboy Shaper bars...
That's a good thought to do that while I have the air box off. Might have to jumper to the harness for the second test so I can get meter in there while it is connected to harness. They don't say if the second step should be done with the key on or what the throttle position should be.
I stand corrected. I was measuring free play wrong. My free play looks to be about 4+mm. I will reduce to 2mm. What is the TPS adjustment procedure? I see some talk about putting the sled into diagnostic mode and checking it. Is that what you are talking about?
Finally getting back to this as I'm getting my sled ready for winter. I'm running a little late this year. At first glance my throttle seems to have 0 end play. Manual says it should be a couple mm. Could too little end play cause this?
The more I think about it, the more I think you are right. I very recently adjusted the idle speed as it was too low. Should have read the service manual on this, as it says when adjusting the idle speed you must check the throttle free play afterwards which I did not do. Might work this in...
Well I really am not experiencing an off idle stumble. The problem with those fuel settings is that they apply throughout the entire rpm range. I'm wondering if my valves need adjustment.
I've noticed by venture lite wanting to stall at idle for some time. I tweaked the idle speed to set it at 1700 rpm a while back as mine was idling at a lower speed. Lately, usually after a long ride when the sled is good and hot it wants to stall immediately upon stopping (thumb off...
