Guys I think we are all missing something here.
Has anyone else noticed that Cat very quietly redesigned the 800 C-TEC2? Recall they pioneered the fuel injection system with the slot in the Piston which to me, looks like is gone now:
"Apparently the 2020 800 CTEC engine gets new cylinders...
Potential buyers of the 2021 2-stroke offerings (the 800cc, 600cc, 400cc Mountain Max, Transporter & Venom sleds) don't even get YAMAHA made YSRC clutches!? They truly are just a rebaged sled.. that hurts Yamaha. That hurts.
Just speculating but I think we are gonna see the 4s Phazer 500 mill in the new Blast chassis.
That way the Cat version is the 2s and the Yami version be 4s and they (sorta) don’t directly compete against each other.
Thoughts? A pro cross Phazer doesn’t seem like a huge stretch right??
Do you have a pic of the blown belts? How are they failing? Is top coming off? chunks breaking off the sides? Breaking in half?
I've only ever blown 2 belts on my LTX in 4000 miles. Pretty much back to back, within 200 miles of each other. The first belt was the original and it had over 5000...
It was previously mentioned that finding your toe out of spec by 2" was unusual. I tend to agree.
FWIW, I once hit a curb under some snow while turning around and afterwards my one ski was toe'd in 2" too. I thought I could adjust it out but no, turns out I twisted my spindle. Maybe you bought...
Thanks for the report Steiner, I will also give this a try on my LTX.
Interestingly, one of my riding partners who bought an 07 Attack this year always has less ice built up on the tunnel than mine does on the same day, same trails. We've logged 500 miles + this year and the ATTAK always has...
Well its been about 2 years and 2500 trouble free miles since my last post in the album... since then shes had a new belt, an oil change and new (cheapo) sliders..
Still Rockin!
I think its gonna be a Crossplane TRIPLE!
Yamaha released this concept back in 2012:

In YAMAHA's own words:
"These motorcycles have...
Odd right? I'm starting to see it a lot more often now.. it will sit there until speed builds up then it'll settle down to about 8700-8800 RPM at WOT.
I have a fairly new (300 miles) 8DN belt, which I broke in gently. When I installed it I cleaned both clutches with brake clean and shop air...
Replaced my blown pto side driveshaft bearing: I should have replaced it sooner like many of the pros on here tell you to do. If you’re reading this and thinking about changing yours: DO IT. It only cost me $34 canadian pesos right from Yamaha and its way easy to change on its own. I also noted...
I have an 08 and I'll try sharing what I've come to learn. It needs to run a while at full choke at least a minute or so. Longer than a 2stroke. I then I cut it to about half or until the RPMs start to drop. If it seems to like its about to stall I give it just a touch more choke until the RPMs...
So right after reading this post I got to thinking my new-to-me 08 Vector LTX is still her original belt (at 5447 miles, I'm the 2nd owner knew the first guy well). Next day I load her up drive out and launch at a buddies cabin. I had the same feeling as your buddies Dad but I had a spare and I...
Nice sled Elypsis, I just upgraded from a 92 Phazer to the 08 ltx. So far I only have about 80 km but starting to really like this sled as I get to know it better. Glad to hear yours is still going strong, Cheers!
