yes you remove the original bumper. I did install myself.It is not difficult. As I remember you have to drill out two brackets to add new bumper

I don't know if it is the same as mine.'05 vector it is a quality piece, steel. I have not used it to tow with,no snow at the camp where we have to tow in supplies. Being vertically challenged the bumper does make for a better lifting position to lift rear of sled.

Do yourself a favor buy the two sockets from micro belmont. They saved me a lot of aggravation. I had to do the whole job alone. Well worth the money (imho). You can hold the shaft and tighten the nut without any assistance
