I have had both a 1.6 ice cobra and a new 1.5 ice storm on a 16 xtx. I think both are great tracks. The ice storm seems like it might be more durable. I got about 7,000 miles on the Cobra before lugs started falling off. the original 1.25 track was studded with ~100 studs I took that off around...
I have two of them sitting next to my apex. They are great sleds. the one thing I noticed switching back and forth between them is the quietness compared to the apex.
My wish a new chassis preferably Yamaha... or cat but I'm not holding my breath.
on my 16 XTX went from a 1.25 to a 1.6 ice Cobra got about seven thousand miles on it before it started to quickly fall apart. Night and day difference. Well worth it. Needed new drivers for clearance to get the bigger track. Last year put an ice storm 1.5 on it.not enough miles on it yet to...
You can use the saddlebags in combination with a Linq gas caddy. You can also get the gas can that stacks and you could put an additional bag on top of it.

Ski-Doo really is tops for accessories by a large margin
I feel pretty much the same way you do. Although a 16 Apex with 8000 Miles. I think I'll be Sno checking a 2020 Enduro 900 or 900t. I'm hoping to do a demo this Sunday in Munising to decide. I'll be getting rid of a renegade so I'll still be 2 Ski-Doo to 2 Yamaha.
If Yamaha comes out with...
I did quite a bit of research on this type of item earlier this year
Although it will not leave cookie crumbs for others to follow if you really need help there is not a better option out there that includes inreach and spot. This is what I use it can be purchased for 3xx...
If it's a friends-and-family sled that you are providing they probably don't have much experience if they aren't bringing their own. A Vector would probably be more appropriate and still a lot of fun.
How is this a bad thing? The dealer and manufacturer get money every couple years. That sled get sold for significant mark down to someone who probably couldn't afford such things. Your friend is happy because he gets a new machine. Sounds like it's a win for everyone
I have multiple bags for my Yamahas. I know how they work but it sure would be easier to have a linq system or what I'd really like to put back there is a powder keg. I love the sound too but practically speaking it would be better not to have it back there for bags and the damn noise harmonics
