Thunder Products Clutching will be there! Booth is EF7
Hope to see a lot of TY people!
Going to try to get to the Port Yamaha booth Saturday at 2pm, but with running a booth and only Tim, Myself and Bigfoot....it's going to be tough to get away.
I checked every sled I worked on, visual, with a feeler gauge and by measuring from the end of the snub shaft to the bearing (on the sleds that came into the shop, not the ones I was working with on Facetime or Messenger). I took everything into account when the test was going on to make sure...
Wish we could have made the pic at 2pm, but as you can see we were busy!
I don't know what the attendance count was, but someone was saying over 100,000
Just yesterday we talked with Snow Studs and are now a dealer for Snow Studs!

I was fortunate to ride with Chris his last snowmobile trip to the great UP last season. Chris was so amped up to ride again this season, but never got to.
Chris had so much fun in the deep snow we found! And got stuck between some trees in the deep snow. We laughed for quite awhile. Did some...
Earlier style compared to the Sidewinder clutch...yes. To me the Sidewinder clutch should be recalled...LOL
As far as earlier clutches from having the set screws compared to not having the set screws....no. Now that we sell the anti-rattle/anti-movement washers, the clutches are the same.
I can bet your Viper was all stock or not setup right....cause all the Vipers I have owned, setup or sold clutch kits to....... changed the way the entire sled drove, they were quick, nimble and performed flawlessly.
Sleds come from the manufacturer with a general setup, it requires the owner...
Thanks brother!
I wish I could tell you that answer, but I can’t
Working with Cat has been awesome so far. The new chassis is more tubular frame than the Polaris and Skidoo and I really like this chassis.
As with big companies, people come and go. Textron still owns everything, but the AC...
Number one, yes…. They have a larger engine in the making which they made the Catalyst chassis for.
Number two, AC clutching has been $@&/ for a long time, like jon mentioned. Just glad AC and the engineers are giving us this chance to finally show them what perfect clutching, low clutch temps...
Answering your questions:
1 a little of both
2 yes
3 it will be a special weight
4 yes and will find out more this weekend
Trail sled, but will be selling it when the big engine will be available.
Believe it or not, but this is a 600 and makes way more horse than previous years. Add perfect...
No, the sled was clutched pretty well with the weights and calibration they had (was the best they could do with their stuff). We proved to them that our weights work and also showed them how to make the clutches work together, not against each other.
Plus, the sled is 50+ lbs lighter, makes...
The previous style primary needs more weight due to the roller and weight location compared to the Sidewinder clutch.
Yamaha moved the roller and weight location to give the clutch more belt squeeze on the Sidewinders. This is why the Vipers still came with the previous style clutches instead...
