We are ordering the gear from a cat dealer. 1702-490 = 21 tooth 1702-491 = 22 tooth 1702-488 = 24 tooth The original part number from Yamaha is superseded to the new number. ordering the original part number will not guarantee you will get to old version.

I was surprised, to see the different looking gear, although there have been several different suppliers of the Cat gears since 2017 to today. But the gear never looked different. Thank you for your kind words. We try to offer a top quality product.

Also FYI when the top bushing wears enough. The jack shaft gets damaged and needs to be replaced. We see this unfortunate issue more than we like. It’s about a $700 repair.

Thank you guys! We found two 24 tooth at a dealer in PA they should be here Saturday and a few others are droping off their gear at the shop or shipping us the gear that is in their sled or their spare. We just need them by Saturday to make the 24 tooth production run.

My first gear was replaced under warranty. The gear also damaged the jackshaft and I had broken link plates in the chain from the uneven loading On the chain. Here is a link to the installation instructions.
