That was my first thought too, but it will happen sporadically during the season also. I thought it was a hydraulic valve train(collapsed lifter)but I see a valve lash setting so I was wrong on that.
Mine does this occasionally also. It concerned me at first but not now, it always runs fine.
It's probably something in the valvetrain that briefly affects compression while sitting.
I would have the hose exit through the foot well like most guys do including me. I wouldn't want the oily residue under the hood that will eventually come and the smell of hot oil while riding.
#1 Small amount of oil from breather hose (ROV deleted). Mine does this over time...
#2 Residual oil from an oil change. I've had this happen...
#3 Oil tank seal is leaking. I've had this happen also...
This is a great mod for these sleds,I've done several. I use the zinc rivnuts with stainless fasteners with no rust problems.
Stainless rivnuts and stainless fasteners together scares me a bit....galling.
I was planning to order a 2023 LTX GT EPS this spring until I saw a sneak peek of one.
Gold/Brown color isn't for me. Reminds me of my grandpa's Buick....I'm bummed
Update: Knapp, your idea was pretty close. Turns out that the oil pump sprocket was spinning on the shaft. The bolt was tight but the two flats that mate the sprocket and shaft stripped out.
It acts like something in the pump drive. It did fill a new filter with oil but 0 psi. Everything was fine when he loaded on trailer in a warm shop. The troubles began after starting it at -25f.
My buddy's sd30 is turning out to be a serious issue. His first outing this year while still on the trailer and it's -25F. It fires up and runs about a minute then shuts off. Refire it and notice oil light on and sd30. Long story short we get it inside and warm it up but no change so he rides my...
Quick update: After finding a mysterious puncture hole in hose going to fuel regulator, more pressure testing also revealed small leaks in turbosmart and 3Bar. After 90 minutes of 22psi not a single clamp leaked (surprised), so I'm thinking of holding off on clamp spacer change for now and...
The hose right after the turbo. I had to rotate the engine slightly to reduce air coming out the exhaust. I didn't have time to check for more leaks last night, I mainly wanted to see if my tester worked good and found the bad hose right away.
Any thoughts on what kind of hose I should go with to replace it? I'm not sure if basic vacuum style hose would hold up.
Last year riding it felt like it was down on power and fairly easy to get knock light. I actually couldn't really feel much HP difference between SM tunes bundle like I could...
I found a big leak by fuel reg too. All factory stuff in that area on my sled and I've owned it since new. There's nothing even close to do any damage to this hose!
The O-ring option crossed my mind or thin plastic shim.
The noise showed up after I installed the warranted drive and bearing with wedge. The spline clearance seems to be plenty but end play seems good.
Agreed, but the rattle gets annoying. I'm tempted to move the wedge out of the shaft slightly to maybe expand the spline a wee bit and take up some clearance but still remain free.
