wow, tightening that coupler bolt was the hardest part on the turbo install! this looks easy!

    EPS Conversion?

So no interference with the radiator? That's great to hear! Was thinking about getting a 7000/Viper for my wife but only if I could do the PS upgrade

    EPS Conversion?

If I retire I will do a video of my next install. I'm looking for a mint 129 ZR9000RR to build my ultimate sled. I have a complete set of extra PS parts, now just have to find the perfect 17 or 18 129! Love that this is working out for so many people that have the fortitude to tackle it...

    EPS Conversion?

The bracket you are speaking off supports and is bolted to the plate. The left side (sitting on the sled) attaches to an existing hole in the left upper side of the tub, while the drop down leg attaches to one of the holes you need to drill, lower right side (at an angle). The parts drawing...

    Catalyst 998t rumours

It's going to be a tough act to follow. Having owned and ridden 50+ snowmobiles in my lifetime, I personally believe that the tuned power steering Yamacat is the best trail snowmobile ever built - considering the overall balance of speed, handling, ride, and even reliability (considering...

    Catalyst 998t rumours

Agree completely with you. I'd stick to Turbo 2 strokes before going back to the tractor power characteristics of the Zuk mill. That was terrible in a sled, even if bulletproof in a sled.

    Catalyst 998t rumours

I am sure that Weber is owned by Textron. Not sure at all about the new engine, but just note the reference to snowmobile in this existing engine.

    Catalyst 998t rumours

If they do a four stroke turbo it will be produced by their German engine company Weber (these guys built that Polaris four stroke years ago). On the website it lists a new 850 turbo (yuk) and it lists snowmobile for possible application. Jeeze I sure hope not...

    EPS Conversion?

Folks there is one more part that is important. It stops the steering post from over turning (and straining the EPS). It goes under the 1605-154 new shorter block and the steering post bottoms out on it. https://www.countrycat.com/arctic-cat-1605-226-stop-mtg-steering-post-lower-eps

    EPS Conversion?

it will work. you just need to read up on the connectors and make the jumper harnesses (one for power, and one for speed signal - very simple) Connector part numbers and sourcing is here. All the information you need to do this is in this thread. Take the time to read it thoroughly and you...

Thinking of up grading to 2023 GT

Arctic cat skis with 7.5 or more shapers work pretty well with the EPS. I run Curves with shapers on one of them and that is outstanding

Non EPS 22s have the holes and the wiring harness so they are easier

    EPS Conversion?

ECU and Gauge are not needed. It is a stand alone EPS that merely reads the speed from the canbus. So this OEM solution can be back-fitted to 17 and newer sleds. In this thread you see some early debate, which was settled, and all of the basic instructions and parts to do it yourself, or have...

    GSE Performance add on eps

I've had both, and for my style of riding, there's no comparison factory vs GSE. Factory much better with the variable speed assist. Also, had some controller failures on the GSE after about 500 miles, twice. Factory power steering unit much beefier in design, but lighter in weight. JMHO.

    EPS Conversion?

I have to say, if someone is interested in doing this, they should take the time to read through 8 pages of this thread. That's a lot less time than some of us took to figure it all out in the first place. I'll get off my soap box now.

parts list in this thread. No complete instructions but tips are there too, and I just added the dimensions for the holes. It's all here.
