    Airbox filters and dash vents

I’ve been making improvements to my Nytro for years, and recently made some vents/ filter housings that others may want to try. I made them with a woven mesh IN the plastic, and they will hold a foam filter as well. My intention is to add a pair to my dash, for goggle warming. My airbox lid...

    Where Do You Go Now

Honest truth, I still love riding my Nytro. Sure, it look years and some money to make it a really good sled, but it’s done and I would have a really hard time letting it go. My Apex GT is a great sled for my fiancé to cruise on, too. No need to upgrade, but if I did, I’d look for a Sidewinder...

    Oil Filter Aftermarket

For my Nytro and Apex I cross referenced through a few brands and found a STP filter for a nissan that I could buy at Autozone along with euro synthetic oil.

    3D printed wheel covers

I 3D printed these hand grips from a very firm polyurethane rubber. There’s really a lot you can do if you just have the ability to learn and create.

    3D printed wheel covers

It would be easy to download a Yamaha keychain file from Thingiverse, then scale it to whatever diameter you need. Just screw it to the wheel, and it would probably survive if it were printed in ABS and vapor bathed.

    Track & Skid question

Based on your current track barely fitting with a skid that’s originally build for a 2” shorter track, I’ll say your proposed new setup will not fit.

    Possible new muffler option.

My target price is $279us. I don’t see any trouble shipping to CAN, but as long as you’re paying the freight costs I’m willing to send them across the border.

    Possible new muffler option.

    Yes, that’s it.

    Possible new muffler option.

I recorded the sled, and took sound readings with the same test that MI dnr uses. Video won’t load here, but I posted on FB to Yamaha Nytro Chat/ Marketplace. Using the DNR test, I measured 86.5Db at 4000rpm. That’s below the 88Db limit . At full throttle, I recorded 118.5Db. I don’t...

    RMotion skid swap. Worth it!

2014+ 120” trail sleds are the best place to look for donor skids. The race sleds are totally different, as well as some low end models that still had the SC5 skid.

    2011 Nytro RTX sway bar

I have the Schmidt Bros. Swaybar on my Nytro with Skinz Concept 42” arms. I posted a little about the installation here, previously. The handling is better, and gets rid of a lot of the flip/flop that happens when decelerating from high speeds.

    Possible new muffler option.

I could record it, but haven’t yet. I’ve watched a bunch of YouTube videos showing what certain pipes sound like, but they don’t seem to stack up well to the real sound in person. Maybe I’ll record a rip down the trail, and see how it compares.

    Possible new muffler option.

After 3 seasons of testing, I may be ready to bring my own Nytro muffler to market for NEXT season. I built my own muffler from 100% stainless steel to be a direct replacement for the original muffler. It fits great, and uses the original plastics. Tone is nice, and NOT obnoxious at all. I...

09-14 arms are interchangeable. Only the paint changed depending on the year/model.

    Kimpex Connect vs Skidoo Linq

You may need a photo resizing app, like “Resizer” to peel your photos for download here. It’s what I use.

    Cracks or casting marks?

Casting marks. I’m my experience, the clutch sheaves tend to begin cracking where the most heat is generated, where the belt rides the most.

A scratchers on the skis or on the rails?

Mine are great on the skis.

    Fuel caddy in 2023

It’s not much, but I made a larger bag for the nose of the sled, so I can carry a quart/liter oil bottle filled with fuel. It might be worth an extra 3-4 miles, so hardly worth carrying.

    Studding a higher mileage track

Normally I like having a studded track, but in your situation I might suggest a different option. Knowing your track could be nearing the end, you may want to use a screw in product, like Igrip. I tried screw in studs (120 in a ripsaw 1.5) for the first time last season. It didn’t feel as...
